Lynels are easy to fight and they drop the best weapons in the game so it-s definitely worth it to fight them- I love fighting them and go on a hunt for them as soon as I leave the plateau and gain a couple weapon slots..,

Just so you know you can headshot a lynel with an arrow run up and mount him and get some pretty good hits in while on his back also you can actually stasis them as well if they start to get a little too feisty

Lynels have great weapon drops. THAT is why you fight them, and hopping on their back offers you a wealth of time to damage them without worry of being attacked. I don't know if you understand the game.
