On MGSV: Most people think the story is sparse because there aren't a bunch of 6 hour cutscenes a la MGS3/MGS4, but there is actually a TON of story. You have to listen to all of the tapes. The tapes are where the story is.
And its hours and hours and hours.
I remember seeing an interview with Kiefer Sutherland where he talked about the massive amount of time he spent in the recording studio, recording all of his lines, and how it took months and months, and I thought, -Bro, you said 8 words the whole game?-
But then I realized that those tapes that ocelot keeps mentioning is what he was talking about.
Most people don't realize that's where all the story is because they listen to one or two tapes, and then realize that they have to just sit in the helicopter and listen to tapes that are very long, and watch snake do nothing, and that's boring, so they skip the tapes, and then say, -There was no story!-
No, there's story. It's just in audiobook format. Which is super boring in a video game.

Definitely agree with the KOTOR 2: Sith Lords Peragus mine level being a big slog. In addition you have to tailor your character's skills and powers a certain way in order to not die because you've got nobody to back you up and are limited in how creative you can get. Then when you get a party, you get spoiled and don't that anymore. Then the final level happens and you're solo again and either basically one-shoting the mobs of enemies because you're too OP or you're character is incredibly weak on it's own because you used the wrong combination of skills/class/powers the game didn't want you to use and you get wampa stomped and can't complete the play through. But that has more to do with the fact that it was a shoddy rushed game than the opening sequence. You can't even properly level some of you party members because you get them too late in the game.

Actually if you play Kingdom Hearts: 358 1/2 days (not sure if it came out when 2 was released or after) you do find out a little as to why you end up playing as Roxas (Since hes in the organization 13 as Soras Nobody that shows that Sora is currently asleep in that weird egg chamber thing) If the game came out after then this comment is slightly pointless. Also Roxas was real technically to a point regardless of the online town version since in the first game Sora actually took out his own heart for Kairi. By doing that and allowing the darkness to take over, that allowed a nobody to be formed aka Roxas, and honestly with the addition of Soras heart being Ventus's who looks EXACTLY like Roxas and who is in fact real, I think that Roxas was just overall Ventus's personality just hidden away within his own heart that is in Sora

Flight School in GTA Online is preposterous.
You have never flown before... its flight school, if you knew how why would you be there. Its a tutorial set of missions.... and you have 45 seconds to land a helicopter, the first time you ever fly one, on the back of a flatbed truck traveling down the highway.
Its like lesson 4 out of 10 I think.... and you can't go further til you pass it.
I did it about 40 times before I said eff flight school. Ima rob a 7-11 then hut the strip club -

Kingdom Hearts 2's opening is the greatest fake out of all time. at first I was like -umm ok- but by the end I was disappointed that I wasn't Roxas anymore. I feel like really comfy starts like this need to be more present in rpgs tbh. Same applies to RDR2 and Twilight Princess. In fact the Twilight Princess version of this is absolutely flawless, it's crazy to me that people don't love the Ordon Village intro.

Me and my dad never pass the tutorial in driver, ever. Back then when I was like 10, I didn't understand english, neither did my dad. We thought we need to find the exit, it was really funny. Then we made a joke whenever we're in real life basement parking lot and find it difficult to navigate the exit, we scream -hey man!- just like in the driver tutorial.

I was living in the dorms at Texas A&M (mentioned for size info) and I had a slot on my memory card with a save of Driver immediately after beating the tutorial driving test that I let others around the dorm copy over so that they could play the game since few of us could get past it at the time. Felt so cool back then for a few weeks, lol.

Personally, I love the mgsv intro. It-s so crucial and gripping, I-ll never skip that intro no matter how many times I play it. The cutscenes, the dialogue, everything is perfect. It-s a perfect setup for the rest of game and if you-re a metal gear fan, it-s exciting to play through every time you start a new save.

Honourable mention for Dragon Age Inquisition. Every time I think about starting a new character or trying out a different class on that game I remember the hour long excruciatingly linear opening mission and stop. If you think Skyrim-s opening is bad, it-s got nothing on DA:I

Skyrim mods -Live another Life- is a must have for any mod user. I can't play without it and it make the game so damn much more immersive and grants more player choice and freedom to choice how you begin in the world, which any RPG fan knows that's a staple in real RPGs.
