Ethan my fav protagonist. He wasn-t some secret agent ready to take on this side of the world, he was a god damn systems engineer. Even as a nub he stomped the entire baker estate AND mother Miranda-s life work, and his unique motivation for saving his daughter made the story even more tragic. His story might hit different with me than a lot cause my dad-s and engineer, that-s just my dumbass take on it tho

I think Wesker himself told him about the boulder incident as one of the canon spin off games takes place after RE5, and reveals that Wesker is still hiding up in his space closet, so it isn't unreasonable that he himself mentioned to others that they should take care.

The music in mercenaries isn't a remix of the RE1 save room. It's a new composition just for RE8, and it plays during the campaign in duke's room in the castle. It's just RE8's save theme.

If you look back at classic Resident Evil games, Capcom had a tendency to reuse sound effects such as reusing sound effects from the first remake for RE4, RE1 for RE2 and RE3, etc.
