10 things only open world gamers will understand
video description
Games with Prophecy-type stories, or ones where you play a main character that is already important before the story began (like a God, Royalty, or famous warrior/infamous outlaw for example), are more easily forgivable though.

in skyrim I had several mods incorporated when I decided to start a new game without uninstalling said mods ... and as the wagon pulled into the sleepy little village where the headsman awaits there are horses and wagons placed in the way by one of the mods .. indeed there is a market set up where the headsman is supposed to be ... the ensuing chaos is hilarious as the wagon with prisoners drives over top of the traffic and parks in the back of another horse drawn wagon by the wall and prisoners unload by jumping down from the wagon as if nothing unusual was happening and the imperial solders nonchalantly go on with the roll call and the village citizens continue to sell their goods ... even when the dragon attacks they still fail to notice

NPCs that incessantly talk - sometimes even over cutscenes and especially during stealth missions. Also the NPCs that keep calling to you after you've defeated a boss or group of people and you want to take a minute to loot but they keep egging you on to come talk to them. There have been times when I've gone to talk to an NPC and then everything disappears so I can't loot anything, so since then, I make it a point to loot when I can and just mute my TV so I don't hear the incessant chatter. Horizon Forbidden West has been seriously guilty of this to the point where I mute the game except during cutscenes - it's become seriously annoying

What about how money works differently for your character and your enemies.. in AC games this happens a lot; bad guys can have army's, control the city, etc. because they have money, but no matter how much money you collect, it's gonna be just enough to buy that one special gun, or restore a small building or something.
This stuff happens a lot in Black Flag as well, where you can board hundreds or huge ships and take all their cargo and in the end it will give you enough money to... improve your one medium sized vessel, even though it will still have crappy rigging and loose planks on it throughout the entire game.

I really don't know if I'm the only one who witnessed this ... I hope not. And sadly I couldn't record it! It happened too fast. I've witnessed maaaany bugs in AC Origins, but this one was hilarious! So a few years ago, I was in the yard of one of those brothels/bath house buildings Where they have a huge shallow pool and everyone are just chilling around it with flowers and everything. A female npc was cuddling with a guy, then got up and walked towards Bayek. Suddenly! Like literally she shifted into a male npc! I was screaming.

What if in gta, npcs begged harder, called each other their names like in The last of us, and girgled cried and moaned for litteral minutes if they dont die instantly like in Tarkov. Make it REAL. Then maybe people will feel worse about mowing down npcs. As it is, it feels more like shooting robots. Cause you are. But if they want to discourage it without removing it, it needs to FEEL real. Or maybe not idk. I just play strategy games. -

I don't think I would mind having the cops chasing me for the rest of the gameplay as long as there was a way around it, like a jail system or something for immersion.
I remember that in the Bully game, if you messed up and got caught too many times, you'd end up doing chores, there was even a special chore if you got in too much trouble during winter time.

worst thing for me (mainly GTA) is if you steel a boat, go for a cruise, boat get destryoyed and your left in the middle of the fecking ocean and have to spend an hour swimming back to shore.. sometimes same thing happens when in a car and your way out at the edge of the map.. car destroyed, no taxis, you have to run back to civilisation..

-The player needs to do everything- Man I'm getting old, because I'm currently playing through GTA5 on my third console, and whenever I'm doing a mission with a crew, I don't want to have to drive the damn car. 'Ughhhh, that jewelry store is all the way on the other side of town. Couldn't Franklin drive just this once?'

Far Cry 2 got a lot less frustrating and more fun for me when I started using the train tracks around the edge of the map to travel. In most cases I would just drive in a straight a line as possible from the nearest spot to my destination from the edge, It also helped me find a lot of diamonds I would have missed
