At the same time as Nintendo's doom was being foretold on the basis of the Wii U's -failure- it was still making bank on the DS/3DS/2DS. It didn't sell all that well, but given that Nintendo could almost guarantee sales of its first-party titles to much of its customer base, I would be surprised if it wasn't profitable anyway.
To be sure, I'm not a fan, never bought one, and find the naming laughable. But it sold more units than the PS Vita, which while also being touted as a -failure- also sold a lot of games...

My respects for Nintendo, their IP's are so strong that they sell millions of consoles and copies. All age groups play them too, we can all enjoy a Mario game jus the same as we can all enjoy something like a splatoon or a pokemon game, others like Zelda have so many iterations that certain titles appeal to different fan groups (like the TP and WW split) yet as a whole, we all enjoy

Related to #5: during the mid 2000's, there was a columnist who wrote an entire article on how J.R.R. Tolkien -ripped off- the Harry Potter series. She actually did some pretty good character comparisons, correlations of story elements, etcetera, and ultimately the article was well thought out and logical. But there was just ONE TINY DETAIL she managed to overlook... --

Everytime I am reminded of how pokemon was accused of being satanic I get flash backs to when I was seven and my friends family thought pokemon was satanic but was perfectly fine with letting a 7 year old(me) watch the horror flick jeepers creepers with there 7 to 10 year old children...I remember having nightmare for weeks because of it.

The funniest thing about the Pokemon allegation is that Shin Megami Tensei is right there. It has literal demons from various mythologies and religions that you have to capture and use to fight. The only reason never got any mainstream controversy is because it wasn't popular in the US.

Instead of Animal Crossing, you should have mentioned Resident Evil 5 and it's setting. Apparently people in 2008 were offended by Chris killing hostile indigenous Africans, hence Sheva was created as a buffer character. Great video anyways!
