Many video games give us fascinating and complex stories that only get better the deeper you dive in. Here's some of our favorite video game lore Dane: On of my favorite games for lore was the first original game of Resident Evil. Because the first portion of the game is a mystery thriller there are some really mind blowing files and reports tucked away in various computers that can read to try and piece together the events leading up to the Hive going silent. I was disappointed when most of this shrouded lore all got ignored starting with RE4, but it was such a cool thing to get caught up in at the time.

Where's warcraft, Assasins creed,Deus X, prince of Persia? For anyone questioning POP, I am talking about warrior within. One of the best games ever. I still haven't started Elder Scrolls. Many of my friends ask me to try out Morrowwind. I am into creepy, spooky and ritualistic medieval games. They say morrowwind has lot to explore and keeps u questioning when it goes nuts.

The Fallen London games, specifically Sunless Sea/Skies certainly deserves to be in here. Those games have millions of lines of dialouge and lore to dig up slowly. In fact the devs are so serious about it, that you can't really find any wiki info about the various stories in the Fallen London universe! You literally have to play the games to experience the lore.

I played Skyrim for a long time and I'm a bit of lore freak so I'm often on fandom wikis of anything I find myself invested in. Elder Scrolls is one of those series be it games, books or movies that the lore is so deep. Not just rich-filled lore but the concepts of CHIM and towers just totally brings it to the top for me.

I believe the main problem with most games is when they detach the lore from the gameplay. In my particular case if I play something like Skyrim I want to go through the whole story and cannot be bothered to read 800 pieces of literature.

I feel like the FNaF series should get an honourable mention for it's incredible lore as well due to it being so full of lore that the creator, Scott Cawthon, even had to make part of the story a different perspective or the other parts.

The game that really got me into lore was Final Fantasy XV. Although it's a pretty mediocre game overall, the lore of the world, tied into the villain's backstory, is so dope it could've been a whole game in and of itself.

Halo I think also deserves and honorable mention, the series has book after book on lore outside of the games so I understand why it might be left out since it has lots that you have to invest outside of the game

For single game category with heavy lore: September Core, Omikron, Anachronox - all offer extraordinary lore. For multigame you missed Far Cry, Fallout, Fable, Half Life and (especially) Deus Ex.

You didn't even mention League of Legends? The lore from just two of their characters just created one of the most amazing TV shows of all time, and they have 150+ champions.
