10 REASONS Why These Games SOLD 20+ MILLION COPIES Mike: Telltales Walking Dead series really opened my eyes to playing more visual novel type games, but haven't really found one that did it as well as they did. The stories wern't so long or drawn out that you'd lose interest, and the game itself really found the sweet spot for the genre where there were enough movement/QTE sequences to keep you engaged with it, but not so many that it became the main focus.
For me personally, it can be a tough genre to get into. It either feels like a QTE game with bits of story thrown in, or it feels too much like a visual story without enough gameplay sequences. Walking dead found that perfect balance in the middle for me.

Skyrim doesn't count, since it is a mod haven, not really a game, let alone an RPG game, since most players won't be able to even tell you what happens in the main story, since that is how forgettable the game is.
On the other side, Witcher 3 slapped hard. Played all three back to back (I regret it, but was totally the burnout worth. Looks good and is backed up with an amazing story and RPG elements, made Mass effect look like a chump for me in regards to story and the RPG elements, even if Witcher 1 and 2 was janky and odd.
I'm curious though, how many did minecraft sell so far?

The ONE big let down with RDR2 that I think hampered the sales a bit were the controls. Everything else in the game is near flawless but the controls at times could be so unnecessarily convoluted and it led to some of it feeling slow or sluggish. I don't know why they went with this, some of the main controls could and probably should have been streamlined a bit to make the game more accessible and less frustrating, I saw loads of people complaining about it when it came out.
Witcher 3, the only complaint I have with that is that there wasn't enough Gwent lol That game is insanely good.

I remember going to a midnight release event at my local GameStop for Dying Light and literally no one else was there, so I wasn't expecting the game to be all that great. Granted it was a slow start for me. I wasn't feeling it right away but once I leveled up a bit the game really opened up, and really turned in to one of my all time favs. Dying Light 2 was good, I liked it ok but man the first one really got the blood pumping at night. Dying Light 2's nights don't give me nearly as much adrenaline.

I'm probably going to get hate for this but cod to me is just crap I know it's mostly based around the multiplayer but I just wish they could make the main story a bit more longer I mean you can literally go through the campaign in one sitting and I hate that I like a game to have a decent main campaign and it's sad because a lot of games seem to do this I'm just saying we need more games with long campaigns idk it's probably just my

For me Walking Dead was the most dragging episodes where the ones in the prison. Nevertheless I watched the whole show Twice, including second season. I could never get into the other Fear the Walking Dead, maybe I decided to check it out after watching the original one, so it just didnt feel as good. Anyway, nice video. Interesting points. There are so many Mario games Ive never even seen in life. Sparked me great nostalgia.

I must be the only person ever to have not played GTA V, or really any game in the series. I do own V, in that it was free on the Epic Games Store at one point and I claimed it like I have so many other things. The most I have ever done is open it, fiddle with the graphics settings on a GPU that I have already upgraded from and thats it.
Almost the same thing with RDR2, only I have not opened it yet.

I've been playing Modern Warfare 2019 this week on PS5, the campaign looks insanely good. I played it first on a high end gaming laptop so knew it could look very good but I've really been blown away by the update they put out for PS5. It actually looks better to me than MW2, maybe just because it doesn't have the weird pixelly shadow texture thing that MW2 has

I just can't believe Rockstar hasn't given more to RDR2 and it's online. It's such an immersive world with so much potential. They put so much into building out this incredible foundation and then just went back to GTA V as a cash cow. I don't dislike GTA V, but it's a disservice to their previous efforts to not do more with RDR2.

Random take, dying lights simpler and almost cliche story is why it's story is better than dying light 2's. It's played out, predictable, and not that original, but with the fantastic world and gameplay that's what it needed to be. It doesn't distract you from the great gameplay and world, it just adds a little spice.

I heard falcon say the Mt Chiliad mystery went nowhere and I smiled immediately thinking about how rockstar is going to knock it out of the park in GTA6. They know how the community feels about all that mystery going nowhere and no Jetpack. they ll surely go to insane lengths to top themselves in this next one.

Man I freaking hate Telltale Games. Ordinarily I wouldn't care if a studio exists that makes games I don't like, but, BUT, I love Borderlands. And they killed Scooter. They deserved for their entire studio to die, that's what you get for killing off one of my favorite characters in a shitty side game that I hated.

I've played The Witcher 3 9 times. 1311 hours in total. twice back to back because I played New Game plus and everytime I find something new. Geralt may say something I never heard before but most of the time I play it because I actually know what's coming next. Geralt's one liners are priceless lol

The story in dying light is great if you actually do the main missions together with the side quests because it gives the world a meaning and everything is extremely well connected.
There are so much details to this game, it's incredible. And it stills looks absolutely amazing to this day.

I dont know why but i just couldn't get into witcher 3. I think around that time i was just tired of dialog trees. After years of rpgs with dialog trees i just wanted to play the game and not have to really interact with the narrative part. Especially when every rpg got so damn long winded with it.

A big part of it is indeed hype and the new shiny. I'm 1 of the only ones not sold on the hype for Elden Ring because I can clearly see the combat is too slow and clunky. everyone else seems to look past the biggest flaw of the game because how gorgeous the rest of it is

The story of RDR2 and GTA is such a weird example of a company caring more for the money than fans/games.
Rockstar clearly cared a heck of a lot for RDR2, but still screwed it over and continue to poor content out for GTA, because people keep spending on it

Can't help but feel this video didn't really go into WHY the games sold well, like wider context (like strides in online multiplaye, huge ad campaigns etc.
Fun video but is more 'these games are fun/exciting and as such sold well'

I've been playing rdr2 for 7 hours a day for the past week. the game should have some sort of warning in the store app or at the end of the purchase or something just what in the hell did rockstar put in the God Damn game

I feel like I am one of the only people who didn't enjoy Breath of the Wild. Like it was ok, but the entire game it felt like I was forcing myself to keep going. I never really actually got into it.
