Starfield: 10 Things You NEED TO KNOW Ricechrispy0527: If I worked at Bethesda and was on the starfield team, I'd totally hide something that most people wouldn't find. You can probably add it to the list of procedurally generated planets with a. 00001% chance of generating, so you could possibly have only one playthrough where you can actually find it.

Look, Bethesda has been under fire in recent years, largely due to Fallout 76, and they know it. Starfield is generating a metric ton of hype right now, but understandably so, there's STILL a LOT of scepticism surrounding this game.
They've made SO many promises and are hyping the game up to be their best one yet, on top of the added pressure of being the first major Xbox exclusive title they're putting out. Even Xbox is marketing this game as their main console seller this year.
They've handed out review copies 2 weeks ahead of launch to a ton of people and they're making all sorts of wild claims. It seems like they are completely confident about this game and are putting everything they have into it.
If this thing flops, it'll be BAD! Bethesda will have a really tough time recovering from that, way more than Fallout 76. I think a ton of people will completely turn their backs on Bethesda if Starfield doesn't atleast live up to 75% of the hype they're giving it.
I don't think anyone's expecting this game to be perfect so there's some wiggle room there but man, a full-blown flop? That would do long-term damage. I'm not saying Bethesda won't bounce back from it, but it will never be the same as it was. People will lose their jobs and the company will lose its decent rep as one of the bigger studios.
With all that in mind, I would honestly be shocked if the game doesn't live up to the hype, atleast to an acceptable degree. Like I said man, no one's expecting this thing to have hundreds of hours of deep and meaningful content like thsy're claiming, but I'm expecting atleast 50 hours of it at this point and I'm expecting it to be in a playable state.
That means - no massively game-breaking bugs, just the visual bugs here and there and ATLEAST a stable 60 FPS on my PC. With an RTX 3080 and an R7 5800X3D, and with the game being installed on a good M2 SSD, that's the LEAST I'm asking for

The only thing I hate about this game is that they scrapped the Playstation version. My friend and I always loved Bethesda games, and we'd always talk about being able to play together online. We got our wish with the latest fallout, but it was so bad I refused to buy it, and my friend slowly gave up on it completely and doesn't even want to talk about the game at all. So I was really looking forward to this, and then it just dropped the other version. Like at this point, I'm good, never playing one of these games again if this is how it's going to be moving forward. I honestly feel like this is going to be a buggy mess like always, but the scope is so big it might take a long while to fix everything after launch

I don't want to be pessimistic, but i think the game looks really boring, the combat looks insanely bad, game looks like a cutscene simulator. It didn't catch me or my friends attention when they first showed it. The game itself just doesn't look innovative because we already have games like this, for example Star Citizen and No mans sky. Only this time it's a elder scrolls / fallout type game, which appeals to a specific audience which i could totally understand. I just personally think that this game is way too overhyped, and people keep forgetting that Bethesda can't be trusted, i got a weird gut feeling about this game's launch.

The game will be good but no way it lives up to the massive hype. 1000 planets only 100 of which will have life and probably will be filled with reused assets. Especially if they re procedurally generated. Which is fine. And whatever a dev says the main quest line is in length should be taken with a huge grain of salt. Always. If they say 20 it s realistically 10-15. If they say 40 it s usually more like 30 and so on. Again, that s fine. People play Bethesda games for all the other stuff anyway. I m sure it ll score 8-9/10 across the board and it ll be great I m just saying my piece.

Bethesda has been throwing out all these buzz words like Biggest city ever built, 30-40 hours, thousands of planets, but truth be told i'm nervous that this is gonna be a janky ass launch filled with bugs and terrible writing like Fallout 4 was, and I strongly oppose the 70 dollar price tag. Game developers have been Nickle and diming us for YEARS with dlc and microtransactions and NOW they need to raise the base price of games? Like the industry isn't more profitable now then it ever has been? You can sugma if you think i'm paying 70 bucks for a buggy mess that isn't even the complete game

One of the first things that I m going to do is deeply explore Neon. I cannot wait to see what kind of stories and opportunities that city will offer me, let alone everywhere else across the galaxy
Edit: I personally do not mind the cutscene takeoff/landing on a planet, no man s sky has done the seamless thing but honestly it doesn t add that much to the gameplay experience. I ve actually encountered some of the most bugs in no man s sky landing on planets so honestly I d rather have a cleaner experience with the cuts than a buggier experience without

When they first announced it I called BS. There's no way everything they peomised was in this game. But then I found out there is no atmospheric flight, you load in and out of the ship, and maybe have to load tiles to explore. Those things make this game actually possible, by loading only small sections at once and limiting how much is going on. Of course, in the background the local solar system has to be calculated in real time so there is still a lot going on behind the scenes, but from a technical standpoint this game is definitely feasible.

I feel like I'm one of the only people who looks at base and ship building and couldnt care less. Building just doesnt interest me. i just think, big whoop, what else is there? lol. Loving Fallout, I cant imagine I wouldn't enjoy this. hoping for high levels of customization of weapons, armor, skills, etc. ammo types, armor and armor piercing, elemental damage type and resistances and weapon proficiencies (getting better with a weapon type the more you use it. make it so I need to actually put thought into the combat.

my prediction: the game will just run on high-end PCs. it's going to be shitty on mid pcs. the story will be boring. the planets are completely empty and most of the time you will just walk somewhere or fly because everything is so big. That's how I've been thinking since day one since I saw the first trailer and how many planets there should be. I'm curious and would like it if it wasn't, but my expectations are very, very low
reply

Lets not forget: there are invisible boundaries on planets
The boundaries can be reached in 10 mins of walking
There is no atmospheric flight
Npc AI is bland and doesnt react to you
The cities in the game are small (think whiterun size)
Most planets will be devoid of anything to do.
Thank god the leakers are showing us how shitty this game is

It's only 10% of the space where you have something to do. Everything else is an empty planets where you can dig resourses. 30 hrs of the story in a sandbox game is always a lie. It's 5-8 hours in reality. Or they're hinting at the pacing of the game. It might be very slow. Like, a few mins of annoying stuff to leave the planet.

Man I hope this game has mod Support on console, I d love to turn my entire game into a KOTOR Reimagined of some sort
Play as Revan flying the galaxy with the Ebon Hawk build Jedi Settlements or Sith Settlements or turn the game completely into a Halo Universe with Spartans and Covenant that would be Awesome

i might check it out, i don't know. going to have to see some serious reviews first, thats for sure.
dont trust Bethesda anymore, sad but true, not cashing out before i see some reviews.
wished it would at least be duo co-op so my buddy and i could explore space together.
might be too boring alone.

reply

Not being able to fly your ship over the surface is a very dumb idea. Just imagine fighting pirate ships on the surface and then just run away full throttle to space and continue the fight there imagine all of it being seamless no loading screen no immersion breaking. It would ve been amazing!
reply

5 things you need to know about the game
- trash optimization;
- there is no full exploration of the inhabited planets - though bethesda told otherwise
- 30 fps at max;
- garbage shooting mechanics;
- numerous bugs due to the old graphics engine 2. 0

reply

This screams initial release having half of what they advertise, hoping to get money from hype sales in order to develop 2 or 3 things to release as paid DLC to then add more money for next phase at the end, I fear this game will cost over 100 to own it in totality.
reply

Nothing in the game is seamless traveling wise. Think of it like Fallout or Skyrim how every building needs to load. It's the same with this game but with planets, space, buildings, and almost everything else. Hey at least we have SSDs for faster loading.
reply

Its crazy how we could potentially get 2 of the best games ever made within a month of each other. That blows my mind! I haven't bought a new release game since 2077 or BG3 Early Access in 2020. I have probably bought 3 new releases in the last 6 years.
