People just need to stop spending money on microtransactions to show these publishers that we don't want to stand for this anymore. My wife and I make fantastic money and play a ton of multiplayer games some of which are free but we usually like 99% of the time refuse to spend any money as a matter of fact through the thousands of hours of games I only remember my wife spending real money on a battle pass or skin or loot box or anything one time. It's just not a good use of money. Prime example I think anyone who bought that 40 Moira Diablo 4 skin for OverWatch 2 should wear that skin as a badge of shame because they have more money than sense and they probably don't have very much money to start

I have found a lot of programmers in general are horrible at UI design, so It's not entirely surprising to see that in gaming as well. I think sometimes it's because the game was ported from console and they put in the minimal amount of effort to get it functional. what works decently on a console may not always be optimal for a PC. I think there's a bit of an artistic requirement to making a truly good UI in any game (or program) of any complexity and lot of programmers just don't seem to have that nack. Most can make something functional, but a quality UI can really add to the experience as it keeps you from feeling like you're slogging through endless annoying menu screens all the time.

Dude, computers can only do so much. You can't have great graphics and then same time real destructable enviroment. You think CPU and GPU can rendering a million realisticly looking bricks and all the realistic ligtning and effects and all run on minimum 60 FPS.
It's far easier to make low poly (old games) destructable object than have high poly destractable object.

Jedi Survivor rightfully got a lot of criticism for how poorly it runs on PC, but that series does unlockables right. Maybe I'm weird, but I love finding a treasure chest with a new hairstyle, haha. Considering EA is typically considered to be one of the worst offenders when it comes to micro-transactions, that game is a breath of fresh air.

Companies don't hire people to fix their games because they know modders will so that's why they put out BS games cuz their games will get fixed with people they don't have to pay which sucks because if they gets Porter to consoles and consoles don't allow mods half the time or at all

#8 Brought a smile to my face thinking about years I spent playing Warcraft 3 online and all the fan made levels/missions/maps. My favorite one was called Run Kitty Run, using the night elf hero Tyrande and had Linkin Park's Numb playing as the music. Ah the good ol days.

Grand theft Auto was one of the biggest catalysts to force other game studios to nickel and dime us. They weren't the first but they are the worst. Now every studio wants their own version of GTA v some live service nonsense.

Red Faction Guerilla ReMARsterd is one of the best single player FPS of all time. If you haven't played it, you really should. Its kinda like a Baldurs gate, Nobody makes games like this but EVERYONE should games.

its as simple as the fact that games are made to make money first and be fun second
its not about good game design, its about design that makes you feel cool with minimal effort

I hear you. I was gaming when you even weren't born. Yes, I'm that old. You are totally right. As a result I don't game as much/don't buy as much games as I did.

Imagine if the developers of old had 2023 technology, imagine the new golden age of gaming. And now look at this, Spiderman 2, Horizons, Starfields, all shit.

At least the DualShock/sense controllers have a touch pad for those menu interfaces. Too bad most games aren t utilizing it for that purpose 18: 48

The issue with multiplayer is you need to pay for the online servers were as a single player game can run on a stand alone system

The UI point is far more like a lack of effort Falcon. I suspect that's why the copy/pasting of Destiny's bad UI is happening.

The first one, number 10, has to be the most important to the rest of the evolution process. Microtransactions are the worst
