It honestly drives me nuts that we don't get more games these days that seek to recreate, in as much detail as possible, parts of our world. I think there's a huge appetite for this kind of game. Like how big is that Truck sim game on steam vs how many people actually want to pretend to be a truck driver? I think most people are clearly interested in that game because it allows you to explore a lot of places.

Watchdogs 3 is pretty good, Camden market is very accurate and the Cyberdog shop even got a place in the game.
Playstation skate park featured in the PS Grind Session game, not entirely accurate but nor was Lara Croft at the time.

As someone who used to spend summers in Venice Beach with his aunt I can still remember the feeling of playing Tony Hawk 2 and getting to the Venice Beach Graffiti Pit level and screaming I skate there at the top of my lungs

It should be illegal to control or attempt to control the depiction of real world places, things, etc. In media. I am sick of hearing this that and the third isnt featured here because of licensing and security

I remember Ubisoft gave away AC Unity for free after the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral to try and preserve the memory of the Cathedral for everybody when they weren't sure how bad the damage was.

Another game like this would be the Yakuza series, while certain places aren't real, some of the parts of Kamarocho that you explore are actually real places you can go to!

GTA iv you get to run around mini fairly realistic nyc and parts of nj. That s why I love the game so much. Place I grew up in I get to see in this wild perspective!

As a Chicago native, the first watch dogs was a fairly accurate recreation of the city. It's weird that it's not represented more in all forms of media.

The realistic setting of Unity is ruined by the unrealistic assassin in hood gimmick when he's the only 1 wearing hooded robes trying to be incognito

Fun fact: The city of Paris is actually using AC Unity's rendition of Notre Dame in order to rebuild it after it burned down a couple of years ago.

How about the Call of Duty series? You explore not only real places but also dive into historical events from the point of view of a soldier.
