10 Times Games BROKE All Video Game Rules

10 Times Games BROKE All Video Game Rules Inscryption blew my mind after I finally beat Leshy at the end of act 1. I though after that, you would escape the cabin and be done. But that is just the FIRST THIRD of the game! Those FMV files confused the hell out of me and I didn't understand. but Inscryption is meant to be an ARG experience. Talk about a twist! Also, a game CANNOT just delete files off your computer. It would be labelled as a virus and pulled from the market. Actually I'm pretty sure that games (or any retail program) can't just put files anywhere they want either without explicit access and consent. All these ARG games always contain the files within the game's directory and folders. Ya know those giant books we all scroll through without reading a word of and just click I Agree. Yeah. It would HAVE TO be in there somewhere if a program did any such behavior.

BotW and Tears of the kingdom are nice free open games, but if you look at the map you still have the Ubisoft formula (go to new area and climb the tower to unlock the map) after a full game the map is full of icons, for me it always ends up feeling more like a chore (the 100% stuff.
In my opinion Elden rings take on the freedom was more exemplary (it even made AAA developers mad that it worked)
No indicators or towers to climb for a map, you could wander around and find the map of the area in a chest or at some waypoint next to the road; And it is just a map (a simple paper map with some nice designs.
That was the only game I took the time to learn the layout of the world, mostly because the beautifully crafted world.

I totally LOVED Far Cry 4's secret ending. I kept saying, I don't want to play this anymore. . I got this ending before properly playing the game, so now I don't want to play the game at all. Pagan Min's been trying to keep order in the area(evident by how he didn't want his soldier killing the innocent civilians on the bus. His anger with the Golden Path is justified. Their leader, Ajay's father, killed his daughter, and yet he's willing to accept Ajay despite being the blood of that ruthless man. He even gives over control over the territory to Ajay for him to take control and maintain peace)
Yes, this is the Templar way, but I'm not complaining. Freedom can lead to chaos without proper authority.

My issue with the Phantom Liberty ending is what happens if you're in a romance with Panam. My V would've done literally anything for her and did, multiple times just because of how much he loved her. Then the surgery happens and you can't even get in touch with her to explain what happened and how none of it was your fault. You did it so you could live your entire life with her and not just die in the desert randomly, but that doesn't even matter. It sucks so bad. Not because it was bad, but because it was so real and I wanted at least one genuinely happy ending in that game.

I hated the new cyberpunk ending so much I just considered don't fear the reaper the real ending lol. I mean if you think about everything you do in the main game and phantom liberty storming Alaska tower seem pretty lore and story accurate. I know it's based on whatever ending you choose but that new one was depressing as hell lol. very well written and real but who plays games for the realism. still a very well done ending can't lie.

Yo, if only Nintendo would give its third party devs a _ heads up _ in how their system works mechanically, we'd see a lot more innovative games like _Tears of the Kingdom. _
That was also the problem back with the Nintendo GCN and the Wii. Most of the gnarliest GameCube games were released at the end of its era, then were ported half-ass'd over to the Wii; _The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Resident Evil 4. _ man.

The ending for Phantom Liberty that was unlocked absolutely sucked if you sided with Reed. it leaves V back in NC with literally nothing and 6 months to live. he/she is homeless and looks like a bum. Worst of all theres no quips from Johnny. how is that considered a good ending? V cant even have chrome installed anymore because their synapses are screwed. If i were to reply it, I would side with Songbird just for shiz 'n gigz.

You are probably the only person on this planet who describes the new CP2077: PL ending as satisfying. Especially since it's clear intention is to be quite the opposite. Considering it's the you got what you wanted but not the way you wanted it one could argue, that this is the worst outcome for V and therefor to some extent also for the player. This doesn't change the fact that it is surprisingly well made, though.

When I found out that my game file has always been safe in Hellblade, I felt so betrayed and yet I was also impressed with the devs. The added paranoia in the game actually made the story more immersive. Now I'm just wondering what they're gonna do with Hellblade 2 and if they're gonna add another one of these gimmicks. I doubt they would but I hope to be surprised.

I finished Cyberpunk by going through don't fear the reaper, into new dawn fades. It was such an emotional ending.
Phantom liberty is strange. It takes all the buildup in the game, alll the strength you gained, all the adventure, and flushes it down the drain. I can't imagine legend V becoming a regular choom once again. It actually makes me feel weird inside.

I love all the videos you guys give, but usually I would get annoyed if something were inadvertently spoiled. Now I know its hard to make content while not actually talking about games especially old ones without spoiling. And even so i can just skip. But i really appreciate that you gave a warning now for spoilers.
reply

im gonna say that phantom liberty just missed the point of the other ending where no matter someone loses.
And then every single romance options and other important characters either forgot about V or just moved on.
V was going to die no matter what, the aldecados ending will always be canon to me

reply

THANK YOU, for putting a big obvious spoiler screen before a new game/dlc. Please ALWAYS DO THAT! I genuinely appreciated it being big and obvious and giving me a time stamp to to skip to so I can avoid spoilers until I finish a new DLC I haven t had the time to finish yet.
Praise be to Falcon.

phantom libertys ending is easily the ending that leaves the shittiest after taste ever, not saying its a badly written ending or anything of the sort. but it is just so depressing i immediately did a different ending after it was done just so i can remember the game on a better note

NieR: Automata DID delete your saves! I didn't believe the game would really do that, but it did!
X3: Terran Conflict was (and still is) a game that not only has a manual, but you need to READ the manual to have much hope of playing the game. (X4 got an in-game tutorial)

reply

As clever as they thought that little lie was, threatening to delete my save file - in effect threatening to delete my time - was too much for me
I stopped playing right then and there
But, it's not like I really cared for the game before that, either

Batman Arkham asylum when the scarecrow shatters the fourth wall. How people don t consider that one of the freakier moments in gaming, I ll never understand. That left me feeling vulnerable for a while thinking I can t trust anything I see anymore.

Imagine you put Far Cry 4 in, started the game, did the cutscene where he says to wait. You then feel like you have to use the bathroom so you live the remote there and come back about 15 mins later from taking a #2 just to found out you beat the game

I wonder what late stage capitalism looks like. Hard to know if you ve never seen it due to the increasing influence of socialism overtaking and replacing large portions of it while draining large amounts of currency and resources in the process.
