The lootboxes in Overwatch were never bad. You could get literally everything in the game if you logged on regularly. No money spent whatsoever. When they introduced the battlepass/shop systems, there were LOADS of skins/etc you couldnt get for free. You could get the battlepass for free, but then you didnt have any coins left over for the shop only skins or the crossover event skins. or vice versa. Now that they've introduced the lootboxes back in, I've already recieved a number of shop only/battlepass skins that I otherwise would never have gotten. I've never paid money in Overwatch, and yet with the lootbox system, I had practically everything in the game. Not so with the battlepass system. Having both should definitely give free to play people more options unless they make battlepasses more expensive or something to compensate.

Easy Anti-cheat (EAC, which Epic uses for all of its games, has gotten suuuuper buggy lately. Specifically, it started conflicting both with itself and other anti-cheat software in the last couple of weeks right after Epic updated the EAC client software for all of their games. I had to reboot my computer last night, which I hate doing, because EAC froze while trying to start up a game. I understand why it needs to exist but the latest version of EAC is _extremely_ buggy. The main reason I have the Epic client installed is because I get a free game every week to add to a collection of games I haven't played. and also Fall Guys and Infinity Nikki are really great games but buggy EAC is really turning me off to Epic.

Honestly, I don't know what the deal with Veilguard is. There's a few things in it I didn't quite gel with but overall I really enjoyed it. It is a good game. So I don't understand the hate it got right out of the gate, or why people still rag on it. I also don't think it's fair for EA to claim it a failure just for not meeting their insanely high projections. It made profit. That means it did not fail. End of. and no. Live service would NOT have made it sell more. You want to completely alienate your fanbase Turning a beloved single player franchise in to live service hot garbage is exactly how to do that.

Sony cleaning up the store has less to do with removing slop and more to do with the fact that people were outright stealing other peoples games, rebranding them and adding some bad AI generated slop then gaming the algorithm to steal the sales of the original. Its happened numerous times now and until now there was nothing happening about it. Good on them for doing it but its still a pretty depressing story, not on their part obviously. Imagine spending years making a game only for another company to just take it and all it's profits.

Good lord i just cant understand how a company like Nintendo can be essentially a pioneering colossus of gaming but simultaneously be as anti-gamer as possible, and also somehow still deliver good games
I really want to hate them because all you ever hear is how nintendo kneecapped this guys family in front of his children, or how theyre suing a 5 year olds mario themed bday party, or whatever. But at the same time theyre super well known for making great games. Its like they hate their audience and just beat us for money xD

3: 30 Nintendo sees not only how much of their own product(s) are being repackaged as someone else's, but also how bad of an asset flip it is and is not just suing because it's pokemon with guns. Palworld represents a lot of what is wrong in gaming today.
But go ahead and continue to push Palworld but don't complain when every game is an unoriginal, half-assed asset flip, with live service aspects released in early (paid) access for years. Because that's what you're supporting in Palworld.

oh not only did EA CEO said that Veilguard failed cause it wasn't a live service game, they admitted to under funding it too! and then of course laid off all the Bioware devs who worked on it after forcing them to start it as a live service game, then three years before it launched told them to make it single player which forced them to scrap everything and restart. the devs wanted to put so much into the game but had no time or resources. as a dragon age fan can you tell i'm salty

GOG is the only thing that comes close to a competitor for Steam, and it's not even close. Personally, I prefer to buy games on GOG whenever I can, because DRM sucks and Steam _is_ DRM, and I like to own my games. I wish GOG were a lot better, though, and there's nothing to be done when a game isn't released on GOG. At least Steam is great at what it does, and a consumer friendly move, like the in-game ads thing, is still a consumer friendly move, no matter the reason.

Sorry, I'm not a big fan of loot boxes in general, but Falcon's just wrong with this one. Overwatch did loot boxes right. You got them for free (I don't even think you could buy them if you wanted to, and any duplicate skins/emotes/whatevers were turned into credits to buy what you wanted later after saving up a bit. When they got rid of lootboxes there, people were annoyed, because who wants another dumb battlepass OW lootboxes are fun and not scammy.

Love the videos guys, but you need to do a bit more research. The overwatch lootboxes are free, not paid, just like Overwatch 1. You earn them by playing, that's it. Blizzard is actually. just giving players tons of cosmetics for free, just for playing the game. I understand the Overwatch hate train has been going on for years, and it's well deserved for many reasons. but this isn't one of them.

The only in-game advertisement I have ever been able to get behind is the ads in truck simulator for trucking jobs that they put on highway billboards, in-game.
I become less and less interested in Overwatch and anything from Activision/Blizzard with each passing day.
No, DA: V is not in any way a good game. It's a shit game, sold for full AAA pricing.

On the slop wipe, it’s about time they did that because these random generic developers are spamming and flooding the game stores with cheap and very shitty AI games causing the real indie games made by real devs to be pushed down the lists and making it harder for people to see them.
It’s been happening for months now in both Xbox and Ps storefronts.

OW lootboxes were good because you got one for free every time you leveled up. I was able to get skins for my favorite characters pretty easily just by playing the game regularly. Never spent a dime (other than the $60 for base game. Simply adding back loot boxes without making them as accessible as they were in the original is just another blizzard fail.

for the Overwatch loot box story. Honestly I have no idea how you unlock skins in Overwatch 2 compared to 1 because it just felt like the only way was to buy them with cash so I assumed that was the only way. That and because the gameplay sucked compared to 1 I didn't stick around long enough to see any other way to unlock them.

If gamers had any spine, they would all stop playing overwatch over the lootbox BS but of course that'll never happen. Graphics are too real. yeah graphics on PC would be like this if it werent for 2 things: consoles. and greedy Nvidia selling their gpus for insane amount of money. Remember when the top gpu was 350$ I remember.

Don't play any game that requires admin privileges. Don't run any program as admin unless you 100% trust it, and always question anything that needs it. Also, since I'm here. please create a separate non-admin account and use that as your main account, and use UAC. Thank you for coming to my Ted Comment.

Interesting fact you cant patent something you have already launched, if a product has been released it is then considered a state of the art work and becomes exempt from patentability. If the patent is applied for before release and the product is released during the patent process thats fine though.

As an ex-game programmer, it is always easier to add networking into a game and not use it rather than trying to place networking in at the end. So even if you think you are doing a single player game you change you mind or vice versa but do included network as a possibility from the start

It should be noted that there will be no charge for the loot boxes in Overwatch 2. I mean, this video posted the quote from the developers saying such right on screen. Falcon, I love ya, dude, but there are times you are no stranger to false claims and bad faith framing in your commentary.

you may have missed it because it happened at the end of January, but Nintendo actually lost a case against a grocery store in Costa Rica that called itself Super Mario. They lost because of all the trademarks they thought about putting on products, they never thought of grocery stores
