Like, it would be one thing if he died while in pathetic human form; but he was in phoenix form while he 'died'. Literally just a moment before his 'death' he did the phoenix thing where his health hit zero and then he was reborn. because that's what phoenixs do. They're immortal.
Also, why is Clive an idiot? Gav made it abundantly clear that the person he was tracking was unmistakably a dominant of fire. And if it's not Ifrit, than it must be the phoenix. You know. The immortal creature that Clive could not possibly have killed because IMMORTAL?

I really don't like the ambiguity here. Did he turn into the beast with literally no control of himself ala Goku going great ape and killing grandpa Gohan? OR is it really saying he consciously did these things as Ifrit due to some underlying malice and contempt that he let loose in that moment when he failed to save Joshua. He's acting like it's the latter, but everyone else seems to assume it's the former and he hasn't confirmed explicitly one way or the other yet. I do hope when everything is explained this becomes clear

I still don't understand how Clive could have killed Joshua. None of this makes sense. How did he just boom pop out to be a second Dominant? I guess I'll find out in the next episode of Final Fantasy 16.

The fact the icon and ability name still displays a picture of the Phoenix and called Phoenix Shift despite NOT being the Phoenix Dominant REALLY triggers me lmao. I hate it so much.

dont really like how attacking elemental enemy types with their own element doesnt heal them. it doesnt seem to even do that much reduced damage.
