Imo, this Reiko is a massive downgrade from his past version. In his past version he had his own ambitions and desires. He was level headed and had smarts. He knew how to take advantage of people around him. And he didn't care about Shao Kahn. He only join his army to earn his trust but it was more like infiltration because he wanted to learn Shao secrets and to plan a way to overthrown him.

Bit of an underwhelming character throughout the story, he got the Erron Black treatment in terms of cutscenes and where he stands in the story
Glad they brought him back but he was just Shaos Lap Dog, I will say though I do like his gear you can unlock, gives me gladiator vibes

Gotta love the loyalty and bond between Reiko and Shao, despite being villains it-s damn wholesome. Hell, even as much of a snake as Shang is Reiko shoots him down when he tries turning him against him.

I just know that they're gonna kill Reiko off against Onaga to have a reason to not have him in the next mk, Reiko is really cool but doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things so i doubt he will become a regular character

That's actually pretty sweet of Shao. Reiko is pretty much going on a suicide mission and Shao in his own way hoped that Reiko survives.
