Jake goes full Star Wars fanboy and brings life to his very own family of Porgs connerspike22: You where working with the clay WAAAAY to wet, keeping a balanced moisture level in your water based clay is essential to keeping it easy to work with. It should be almost as easy to work with as any oil based clay, and if you want to do a quick smoothing of your model, be sparing with the water, and if you want to ad a lot of texture to your model and you en up with a lot of little boogies, you an also use alcohol to smooth the clay without turning it to mud, just make sure you let it evaporate first before continuing. also i never recommend using gloves when working with water based clay, it makes it difficult to work with, and you can get rid of fingerprints just by wiping the model down with a very light amount of water and a brush. Hope this helps with future endeavors in the world of clay! I grew up with Indy Mogul and it helped cultivate my love for not only prop building, but making as a whole.

What a waste of money, why not just some layers of plaster, reinforced with a last layer of plaster-bandage.
Separation of 2 halves is not an issue, just first set up a thin screen of clay as separating line.
First splatter the first half of plaster on, the the backside.
Also cheap: Several layers of latex, several layers of cheap silicone caulk.

As someone who makes molds as part of their job, this was painful to watch. That stuff is really expensive. If you're watching this to learn how to make molds, this is a awful example of how to do it. If you just want to make a porg, make a stuffie instead. It's cheaper, more practical, and will probably look much better.

#prop911 Hey Jake! I love your videos and your dry sarcastic humor. Basically I need 2 M1 helmet ( the same one used in WW2 ) for a film I am going to make set in the Vietnam War. I was wondering if you could make them with templates from yours and make EVA foam copies. It would be amazing if you could do this! Thanks!

Ah man this was awesome, the porgs are super cute. But they weren't inspired by the puffins, they WERE the puffins. They essentially sfx'd in costumes because the island was covered with those lil buggers. Easier to mask em then to take em out.

Emm it's actually a murder of porgs to be grammatically correct instead of flock (just a joke but really that's amazing how you can make that stuff to such a high quality while still keeping it easy to understand)

Can you make two of the call of duty advanced warfare Atlas 45 pistol, I know they are not the best guns but they look cool, something that's light to carry but heavy to hold?
reply

Yes. Good. I can feel your anger. I can freate the Porg and strike him down with all of my hatred becoming more powerful that you could possibly imagine.

it would be awesome if you could make the engineering helmet from dead space maybe you could also do how to do the RIG armor
