Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Today, Indy Mogul hangs out with Darious Britt, the independent filmmaking extraordinaire behind D4Darious, to talk about microfilms and how to effectively practice filmmaking. We go over Darious's transition from film school to YouTube. Darious shows us how to practice filmmaking when you're just starting out. He introduces the concept of microfilms to us, and we take on the challenge ourselves to make a film entirely out of stock footage

Loved the micro film! Very cool exercise. The only part that didn't fit was the woman in heels cutting to the business meeting. It suddenly felt like a commercial about how society views women on the go. She seemed destined for sensible shoes and a non corporate life-style based on the images that came before (My two cents as someone who didn't actually do any of the work: -)

My first film was a spoof/critique on Ugly Duckling RomComs made for teens. They are toxic. Being yourself is the only way to move through life, as soon as you try and be something you're not, you begin to undo your world. It was a slapstick comedy.

Really nice interview and micro-film. Thanks. One question; how did you arrange the music for the micro-film? You talked about sound design, but not how you did the music which matched perfectly and made it so good. Please share how you did it?

them: Everyone's first micro film is trying to be some grand reflection on life. That's hard to pull off. Keep it simple.
also them: We're gonna make a micro film out of stock footage and sounds that's a grand reflection on life.

Such a cool video! I was curious how you were able to use Alan Watts' voice for free? Wouldn't you have to license the rights to that? Thanks for all the videos. You guys are incredible!

The short inspired me. You guys gave me more beneficial info in 19 minutes than all the hours of videos and skillshare combined. That k you and keep up the great work.

Thank you for motivating me to get out there and just start doing it. D4 said someone could even make tying their shoes cinematic. I said challenge accepted!

We need a third person that can explain it like I'm five. Just a crit. You're repeating Darious in a differently structured sentence. Echo -> eCho.

10: 01 If everyone has this tendency to discuss mental health in their first films, does this mean mental health is a driving force to making films?

how long did the stock footage video take to make from start to finish? as in the moment you set down to begin it to when it was completely done.
