Wah-Wah is such an underrated film, I highly recommend it! Especially if you love a good drama with humour thrown in. The ending still cuts deep though.
I appreciate how even as a 90s kid brought up mostly in Britain, there are themes to this film that resonate with me more than I realised.
I appreciate how raw, honest but undoubtedly heartbreaking they are conveyed in this film. I truly felt for Harry, Ralph, Ruby and Gwen.
But as for the humour, being an RAF brat for the first half of my childhood I cant help but think how some of the attitudes were rather similar on those marry patches based on the stories my mum recounted to me! Those Sherry mornings, for example. There was even an aerobics class that everyone had to turn up to just because it was run by the station commanders wife, I could go on. But luckily there werent any erupting Lady Hardwicks though.
And the same can be said for British expats in general actually! My family lived in Saudi Arabia for a few years when I was really young. it was an interesting experience for my mum in particular to say the least.

Richard E Grant is great! I watch a lot of young people who become too cool for school in interviews but look at him, after decades of acting, still so hungry and excited about acting. I really admire that. I had a crush on him way back - Withnail and I days - and I think he's still good looking. I also really enjoyed him in Jack and Sarah. Jimmy Kimmel on the other hand seems a bit ridiculous. The way he asks Richard E Grant about knowing stuff, like we're out here in the bush in Africa. Tbh we have a much better world view than Jimmy does. I mean, he doesn't even know where Swaziland is. The thing I love about being from Africa is that we learned about other countries - from USA to UK to India and China. We didn't just learn about our own backyard, yet think we know everything.

Kimmel keeps going on about the Steve Martin film. How can he be in comedy and not have seen Withnail & I? Richard in that film has the most perfect delivery ever. I would be more star struck by him than anybody I think if I met him.

Richard E Grant in Withnail & I and How to Get Ahead in Advertising are must see movies and am so glad after so long the world has caught up to his uniquely amazing acting chops.

Richard E. Grant would be somehow be the preferable choice to play Judge Claude Frollo in a possible Hunchback of Notre Dame live-action adaptation.

Did you know about America and our culture and what we're up to. Is this the standard of interviewing these days? It's abysmal.

He looks magnificent.
Can you imagine him and Jeff Goldbloom together? Jeff playing the piano and Richard singing perhaps.

I thought he was absolutely superb in Can You Ever Forgive me and I am especially fond of his performance in Coppola's Dracula.
