I never thought I'd be like, Soul Coughing, in 2024. Unmarked Helicopters is still all these years later a song I know all the lyrics. I bought the Sounds in the Key of X at Cheapies in Hamilton back in the day. This version of super bon-bon is amazing. The double bass is gorgeous. Thanks Kimmel Live team for an excellent choice of band. EDIT: is it upside or aside

When I seen it announced during the opening of the show I did a double take saying what wait! Soul Coughing! Is this 1993-1999 I said hell yes! And yelled SOUNDTRACK TO MARY! My inner 17 year old came out of my body hahahaha. They sound awesome still and thank you Jimmy Kimmel Show for having SC on. Yes!

Wait, did I just see real, non BS, non-garbage, pushed by the record companies, non-ear pudding, interesting, likeable music on Kimmel I must be dreaming. Usually make it about 20 seconds into 90% of the fodder they offer up to us.

Ive never heard of this but this would have been my jam in 96. it fits right in with Beck, The Eels and UNKLE in that period of time. Don’t know how I looked over this when I was 14 years old.

That was one of the best performances I've seen on Jimmy Kimmel. EVER. The Ruby Vroom album makes me smile. I'll have to get the Anniversary CD to replace my original that I still listen to.

Love Soul Coughing! Never got a chance to see them live in the 90's. Just needed more pep in Mike's delivery but the sonics were still on point.
