Hey there,
Rainbow Studios did have a sequel for this game in development, but it was in the form of a movie called Blue Planet. Rainbow went banktrupt and was attempting development as late as 2009, but the IP was sold to THQ around 2010, which is now owned by their now-defunct property. There were a few old sites that had some good HD images of some of the models and such.
The story also picked up after the 1st game. Thanks to the aliens losing their foothold of Earth, EOA now has the task of cleaning up, along with checking out the rest of the solar system to see what else had happened. From the screenshots and the trailer it looked very promising. If it wasn't for the bankruptcy, it would've been released.

also ever play Gahan Wilson's Haunted House for Windows 95 and 98 (might even be for DOS) it was a halloween-themed point and click adventure where you could create your own frankenstein monster, craft items, make recipes, collect and trade items and more. you need to find the 13 keys to the grandfather clock in the lobby before 13 o clock in the game or else you get boarded up into the haunted house for all eternity.

One cool feature of Deadly Tide was that it included the soundtrack by composer Mark Stratford on disk 4. He also did the music for a number of other titles from Rainbow Studios, including The Hive. For a time when game music still was light years from the orchestrated scores that we have now that can be on par with the quality of motion pictures, it was an impressive contribution.

I believe you should totally perform a review of the original elite game. It's a complete classic of the space sim genre. I saw you had it on your shelf in one of your vids and thought that it's time for a proper review. Especially that it's latest sequel is still going strong and I don't see you doing any classic space sim reviews. Could be a nice change.

7: 54 I also hate when they dont give players the feel that they beat the game, but rather they kick players out, and you dont any proof that you beat it, or they give you really dreadful ending that is obviously so fast made that it ruins all good things that you had for the game, for me that was ending of the PC game - Darkened Skye -.

Just to correct, the -original- Battlezone was released in 1998. Battlezone 2 was released a year later and was prettier, but the game play was. nerfed? The tanks all handled the same and there was no real benefit to using anything but the basic tank, where in the first one, the different tanks AND weapons were all very different.

As a kid I strongly believed Deadly Tide was possible only because of their new graphics API, not even sure it was called DirectX at the time. And MS just bought SoftImage so I assumed that was it, new magic from my Pentium 75. For a few runs the game fooled me but I started to realize it wasn't a doom like system. Kid logic

When i was 11 year old, this game made me fall in love with those kind of games, its a simple concept and actually fun to play, i own a old pentium 3 pc now and i have this game installed, it indeed shows its age, but its quite charming, its fun to go back in time sometimes
