I really love games/movies/tv shows that are set in a deserted or abandonded place (the walking dead (tv show and telltale games, lost, far cry, etc) but the problem is that there are always utterly evil, sociopathic people with no good left in them.
They will laugh when somebody dies, kill relentlessly, torture, etc.
On the other side there are the supposedly -good- people who've build a -save- place but there always seems to be something wrong with them.
In twd the game, they are cannibals or muggers, and in lost there's also something about the others. Basically the -good- people are always some type of messed up cult.
The protagonists aren't save anywhere and you can trust no one. At least in these apocalyptic games.
As much as I love these games/shows for the survival aspect, they always mess me up emotionally.
Two summers ago I binge-watched lost and at night I was so petrified that I couldn't sleep and I always mixed up reality with the show.
When I watched twd I was hella depressed and when I looked at my room I imagined how it would be if I were in a zombie apocalypse.
So I am in a dilemma. On the one hand I love these survival scenarios but on the other hand I just can't deal with it emotionally.
Maybe someone can recommend a game where you're stranded on an island which isn't as brutal as far cry or lost? (e. g. -the Sims - Castaway)

I mean, maybe it is just that story telling is just more complex now, but i don't find jason to be quite believeable anymore, i mean he can't even shoot a gun, but at the first 10 minutes, he just goes out there and shoot some boars with perfect accuracy (this can very depeding on the player) and know full well how the gun works and reloads, and literally 10 minutes after killing some boars, he's out there shooting trained pirates in the head and stabing them with a machete, it would make much more sense if you just played as grant, at least his initial skill and accuracy could be explained that it was because he was in the military

one thing id like to see from games like these, is to go a extra mile, tomb raider for instance, there isn't true mechanical story progression, just simply story progression. A character inexperienced in the situations they are thrown in, vocally portray that inexperience and fear but mechanically fight like rambo on steroids. Story: never killed anyone before. Mechanically: Slit a dudes throat in one go no problem, yeaaa. also in tomb raider, easily strangling a dude 2 times her size, there should atleast be some bucking and struggle to it until she learns to deal with it better

Loved the game, played it multiple times. Only thing i didn't like is that it is too easy in late game when you become an ungodly killing machine with overpowered weapons and abilities. I liked the progression, it was quite addicting really, but the enemies needed something to stay competitive, maybe new enemy types or something. Also, as you unlock more and more safe houses the island sadly becomes more and more boring, as there are no enemies except the wildlife to oppose you, or to create the fun random events.

I'd rather call the freedom of choice an RPG element than a skill tree. In a good RPG even a skill tree demands you to make a choice in favor of role playing. In Far Cry 3 or Shadow of Mordor, you just unlock skills and if you grind enough, you can unlock all of them. You barely even have to prioritize. In an RPG, a real one, you have to specialize to the role you want to play through dialogue options and through the skills you choose, because you can't unlock and become an expert at everything with one character.

I'm not generally and FPS lover but i adore Far Cry 3 and continue to play it to this day. It's just that good. If you haven't picked up this game why not?
Speaking of which i don't have a computer powerful enough to run Far Cry 3 better then the console would so i just have the Xbox version. If Ubisoft released a next gen version of Far Cry 3 with all the settings cranked up for the more powerful hardware i would buy it in a heartbeat for my Xbox One.

I built my first PC since the early 2000s in 2012, an Ivy Bridge i7 with 2x GTX 660 SLI. I was given the ability to play the best games of one of the best few years of AAA gaming: 2012 to 2015. Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon, Borderlands 2, GTA 5, Fallout 4, Payday 2, Max Payne 3, Tomb Raider, Metro Last Light, Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3 and that's just games I own off the top of my head from Obama's 2nd term.

This will forever be one of the greatest, if not THE greatest Farcry to ever come out. I've played every one of them except for 2 and I remember having the most fun with 3, plus as LGR said the story was more believable than other Farcry games and the antagonist. the best ever in a Farcry game hands down. Him and Joseph Seed were the best.

Not only best game of the series but one of the best of all time in my opinion.
The story, the soundtrack, the visuals everything is awsome!
(when you played trhe song at the end it gaves me goosebumbs)
A bummer that there is no coop -freeroam- mode but Far Cry 4 (wich is nearly the same just not as good in total) has one

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about now. Perhaps try writing real sentences that people can understand.
You say -I'm used to shitty games- I presume you think Far Cry 3 is a good game no?
The point is I don't like Skyrim I think it's overrated as do a lot of people. Get over it or go cry elsewhere
