The demo on PSN was fun, but I kind of got a bit tired of the spoofs just in the short demo time.
I would buy this for $5, or even $10, but $15 seems high for this when you have games like Journey and The Unfinished Swan to compete with.
To be honest I probably would have paid $50 for a NES cart version of his homebrew cart in box before I spend $15 on a digital game, but that says more about my feelings on digital media than anything.

Thank you for being openly critical about this game and not just jumping on the -This is the best thing ever- bandwagon like most other reviewers I've seen. Of course being a retro gamer, I can appreciate what they did here, but it seems to me the novelty would wear off pretty soon and it doesn't really compete with the actual retro games it references. It does make me wish I was playing those games though. :) Awesome review as always.

This is one of the rare LGR reviews where I actually disagree with the outcome. I enjoyed this game quite a bit, and as long as you're not offended by all the references, it's just a good game to chill out to. Plus, the soundtrack / audio is awesome. I agree on the price though. $10 might have been a little easier to stomach for something most people will only put a few hours into.

Well tbh im not versed in indie devs or indie games all that much, to me it does exactly what it says. Retro (references, City (city, Rampage (the rampage part.
But id like to see your list of 15 dollar indie games at some point as some of us just dont get what games your referring to be better then this.
Something like -LGRs Indie games list- or something. :)

Well, our conclusions at the end are just what sets us a part a wee bit. I still get excited when I think about the game, whereas you had a hard time out-right recommending it. I think the game just struck the right chord with me for some reason. It's a very well put together package.
Love the videos man, please don't get bored of making them; -)

For me this is the only -retro- game worth buying, but I am not buying it till it gets to the 1-2 dollars range or bundled with 10 other games for 5 bucks. Why? Cause I don't like all the fake retro games being released the last few years. I didn't like 8bit in the 80's, I sure as hell don't like them now.

Oddly enough I did not grow up in the NES era and I despise reference based humor yet I really enjoyed this game. I can't quite describe why it just feels right to me. Of course it probably doesn't help that I only payed 7. 49 for it recently when it was on sale on the official site.

Yeah it's great to chill out to, like I mentioned in the video. I don't think the game is bad by any means, just tiresome in its references to geekdom and a tad lacking in truly engaging qualities versus the price you pay. It doesn't sound like we disagree that much, really.

-I'm not sure what to do! -
-mission dialogue makes it blatantly obvious you're just screwing around with a tanuki suit for 1 minute, mission objective straight up says to stomp civvies-
This is why you don't skip cutscenes.

Lol your opinion on this game reminds me of why I hated the Scott Pilgrim movie. All kinds of fluff and referencing for no reason, besides for wannabe poseur nerds to go -Oh! A pee meter! Like a health meter in video games! -
