I love Irritating Stick! It's one of my top 50 PSX faves!
Yes, you do have to 'Git Gud' with the controls (anyone who would use the D-Pad for this game is an absolute dumbshit.
You failed to mention the versus mode quip - If you are closer to the finish, and your opponent catches up and touches the relative location where you are at, you lose a life. However, your opponent continues on like nothing happened. Yes, that was prgrammed intentionally too.
My favorite Vs Mode Irritant? Inertia. I love it when someone tries to show off and then whammo! They can't stop moving! It's too perfect.

This game brings back memories. I remember buying it when my family visiting one of those big places with a bunch of market stalls in Vegas. And I don't think it was a flea market, but something else. Can't remember. But I remember my father being amused by the title, and my sister and I thinking it looked funny, so we bought it. As a child, it feels like it took me forever to get past that first level with the slot machine.

Seems even more frustrating then kororinpa on the Wii (and probably as adicting) BTW LGR If you haven't played Kororinpa or it's sequel I highly recommend it. (It's a game about getting a marble to an exit in a big maze and various kinds of obstacles, however you control the angle of the world with the Wii remote instead of the marble directly)

This is a game that deserves a remake. What I especially love is how enthusiastic the announcer is. Imagine booting up CoD and hearing --WELCOME TO -BLACK OPS 3! -- with some awesome music in the background. How pumped would you get? This is a game that would be amazing if it was remade.

If you want a game similar but waaaay more enjoyable, try Kuru Kuru Kururin on GBA. Its a great game, same basic concept except your stick rotates, making you be patient before you continue. its great. it also has much better controls. :-D

Irritating/frustrating is the correct translation of -Ira-ira, - the original word. It's not meant to describe the stick in question, but the emotion you feel after failing the same course for the 99th time.

what a horrible game. But I couldn't stop watching. Several times cringed as you came within a pixel fart of hitting the edge. Do a play video!
Edit: These videos lie. you play nothing. Be gone.

A parody version called Irritating Schtick. Is actually just a clone but the announcer constantly makes Duke Nukem voiced quips.
Jk Clint. Love your content. Do HOSTILE WATERS: ANTAEUS RISING!

Looks like Kuru Kuru Kururin meets LSD.
I think I prefer having a predictably rotating hitbox over bad controls when it comes to artificial difficulty.
