Giant robot and mecha games were rather prevalent at one time, and Slave Zero was one of those that shouldn't have been overlooked. At least not the PC game, the Dreamcast's was lame

As someone born in 2001, I missed out on a lot of older games. Sure, I've played Doom, Quake, Diablo, Wolf3D, and other big games from the 90's, but a lot of great games were missed because I had no idea they existed. This is one of those games. This is by far one of the best third-person shooter experiences I've had on PC, and the detail in this game is shocking. It's entertaining in 2018 to mess around with the physics and watch buildings and cars go up in flames. I can't imagine playing it way back when and experiencing the same things.
Thank you, LGR, for showing us so many great gems of the past! In a time where a lot of newer games are losing my attention, it's nice to have a backlog full of games from the 80's, 90's, and 00's to play. If I ever run out, I'll know where to come for more!

I don't even know if mech games still come out, i remember Hawken and a new Mechwarrior coming out recently, alongside a remake of Cybernator recently but besides that, what else is there?
Well, at least there is a sucessful kickstarter for a Battletech game which is something i guess.
By the way, i know about Super Robot Wars, a series with many many many strategy games with robots, with one upcoming game to be released soon but those are Japan only, i believe only two were translated and released to America on GBA.
Those really are mecha games and it's a series with lots of games but i don't know japanese so i don't count them.

Hello! LGR! When I have to I can watch your videos I just started to collect old games for pc, it complicates me a bit and I work as an artist, I paint and draw pictures and when I have some money left over to save and try to get some game. Today I bought an old game called SLAVE ZERO: ) I remember when I was a kid I wanted to play the full
version but I had to settle for the demo: (
After so many years I was able to get to that factory sealed game. I'm happy because today I only find your video with the review of this game.
A big greeting from Argenitna

I was watching one of your videos, started reading up on some game you were talking about, went on a bit of a wiki walk and ended up on a page about this game. I got curious and thought -I wonder if someone has a video review where I can find out more? - and lo and behold, I'm right back in the Lazy Game Room. I know this video is seven years old, but I've just gotta say I really appreciate your videos and how you somehow always manage to have already reviewed every old PC game I randomly get curious about.

I originally had this game on dream cast and didn't enjoy it at all, I heard that the PC version was better before but I was already pretty cross with the game after getting it on console first. ironically, as you had mentioned shogo, I picked that up from target in a dual game pack for $20 and I really enjoyed it including the story.

I own the Dreamcast version of this game. And when I got Slave Zero on the Sega Dreamcast when I was a kid I thought it was gonna be awesome since I was gonna be playing as a giant robot shooting other robots in a futuristic city.

I feel like this game was on Dreamcast? or, there was a very similar game on Dreamcast. but I was such a wee lad that I can barely remember. This definitely brought back very old memories I had forgot about for years though.

I had fun with this game when it came out, but I got as far as I could, and eventually traded it in. I didn't realize it was on PC; I didn't have one at the time but I did get the Dreamcast the day after launch.

Man I love this game. I bought when it was brand new on PC and DC and still have them. I randomly thought about it and looked it up to see if anyone ever reviewed and found your vid. Nice watch dude and thanks \m/

I played the Dreamcast game, quite enjoyed it but never at any time felt I was piloting a giant robot, It just pretty much looks like your a guy running though corridors, no real sense of huge scale.
