I feel kind of ripped off. I bought this once I saw it hit Steam. and I think I paid the full $40. But the part I dislike is that it doesn't seem to have all of the games shown on LGR's screenshot of the site - I don't have either of the Commander Keen games listed at the 0: 40 mark.
Bleh. Given that almost none of the games were being offered singularly on Steam, I'm sort of glad I picked it up. Still, there's a number of them I now effectively have doubles of - I have the Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition and Shadow Warrior Classic Redux already. And it also ended up effectively giving me a second copy of both Blake Stone games and Rise of the Triad on my list, even though I had previously bought the -Apogee Throwback Pack. - And because it's been over two weeks since I bought it, they refused to give me a refund, despite having played less than two hours of it.

I just bought a Steam key to this pack via a website for less then -10. Weirdly enough I do not get a launcher, just the games individually in my Steam library. Also, I do have Balls of Steel but no Commander Keen. Which is fine since I already owned it but also is it listed nowhere in the description. They do just sell it here on Steam as an ID Software game so maybe that's a difference between American en European distribution rights?
Also, off topic: I can't get Max Payne to run anymore. The disc version hasn't worked for ages since I use a 64 bit OS but now the Steam version seems to have problems. It just tells me it's running when it's not and because of this I can't even shut down Steam. it's really annoying.

This pretty much flew under my radar. I heard about it, but barely took notice of it. I actually thought it would be a physical package, which would be nice, but rather impratical to me. Like that, it's more interesting. Pity that I missed the sale, but I might get it some time.
I just wonder about Wolfenstein 3D. Unlike violent games, like Duke 3D, it's completely banned here in Germany, making it technically illegal for me to get the Anthology. Unless they accommodate for that, by removing the game from downloads in Germany (which would be a pity, but something I'd accept.

Bundle Stars was selling keys for the Anthology in mid-December 2015 in a package with a handful of unrelated games, though notably that Anthology key removes both Wolf3D games, adds Xenophage and Balls of Steel, takes out the launcher you showed (not really necessary with Steam involved, and ships Duke3D with the -eduke32- launcher and a set of expansion maps--Duke Caribbean, Duke It Out In DC, Nuclear Winter, and the entirety of DUKE! ZONE II--alongside Atomic Edition. Not sure if that makes it Megatonne Edition or not, but it's a LOT of levels!

Lucked out and got the 3D Realms Anthology (Steam version) in a Bundle Stars bundle with a bunch of other titles (including Super 3D Noah's Ark, for a little over $4 US in December. Good timing too, since they took it down at the end the month, as Clint pointed out, pending issues left to resolve. Anyway, I'm happy - had a lot of the titles already from abandonware sites that I got years ago, but it's nice to have a package that is 100% legal with no grey area issues, and to have them already customized with DOSBox.

This is a great package for 20 bucks! 40 bucks may be a bit much, though, at least if you already have some of the games. I have the Commander Keen games, Raptor, Duke Nukem 3D and Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project - what I'm most interested in is Hocus Pocus and Wacky Wheels, which is 5 bucks each separately. Some of the games are freeware (Alien Carnage, Arctic Adventure, Bio Menace, Major Stryker, Monuments of Mars, Pharaoh's Tomb and Stargunner.

Please sir, do a review of majesty the fantasy kingdom sim, it is the game that got me in to pc gaming, it lead me to populous the beginning, then to the Sims, to roller coaster tycoon, to black and white, and to hundreds of virtual universes that i explore to this day. It all comes from that one game. If you have yet to play it, give it a try i think its one you will get a lot of fun and enjoyment out of. Thanks for your time sir.

Realm of Chaos reminds me of Goldenaxe. BTW, today I noticed that Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition and Shadow Warrior: Classic Redux are being sold together on Steam for $3. 74 on sale. So, if anyone wants to go kick butt and chew bubblegum as well as mess with Lo Wang, then you can do so for an amazingly cheap price until the sale ends tomorrow on November 7th, 2014.

Nice video LGR. Honestly, $40 for games (mostly) so old they should've been free already which cheaply run through DosBox. yeeaaaa, how about no. The updated soundtracks and the scanned manuals are a nice touch but unless they kind of update the games, this is definitely not worth the asking price in my opinion (even if a bunch of these are still great games)

omg! Crystal Caves! I have been looking for that game for longer than you could imagine! the closest to anything like it I was able to find was Manic Miner, which was not at all what my first PC game was. I remember that character so vividly, and I knew I wasn't crazy. Thank you for re introducing me, LGR! I've got some nostalgia to attend to.
