Man, all these stories always go awry after the company goes public
By the way new fan of yours here. I'm a cumputer enthusiast and old enough to have the mighty Pentium 100 Mhz as the CPU of my first computer as a custom made PC. I love how you enjoy every single gadget that falls into your hands and how knowledgeable you are regarding old and new tech.
I don't know how into sports games you may are but there were a spanish developer that you may find interesting. Dinamic Multimedia. They were part of the Golden age of spanish videogames and stayed alive right until the 2000s, their signature series was PC Futbol, wich pioonered in the manager stuff and was also on fire over here.

There's an interesting thread on a Ferrari forum about the car involved in this crash, and IIRC Barnhart had already purchased the Ferrari. And it was Sheldon who had come to meet him to look at his Porsche (he was selling the Porsche because he just bought the Ferrari. The two of them decided to try out the Ferrari (I suppose, to see what it would do) and well, Barnhart was killed, and his passenger ended up in the hospital (I don't think he ended up buying the Porsche after this. There is a question of who was actually driving - we'll never know of course. This is the story his daughter posted on the forum after the Ferrari collectors had been saying some wild things about the wreck.

I love your videos, they all remind me of my old computer, it has either Windows XP or 98 (I think it was XP) I loved that thing so much, I had it until around 4th grade, so around four years ago. The thing was awful, but it gave me useful experience with figuring out how to get it running (it wasn't a GOOD computer, it barely ran and it was made by a company I can't remember) It also gives me the advantage of when someone makes a joke about Windows XP, I know what their talking about.

You know what's interesting? There's a LOT of cases of disruptive tech firms having their heads die in Ferrari accidents. What are the odds Ferrari was involved in some shady eliminations on the behalf of big tech firms? They got involved in a lot of shady nonsense as it was back then, it wouldn't surprise me if they got into more than that.

Anyone interested learning more about the roots of Eagle Computers I suggest looking at Douglas Mesney's website (Audio Visual Shows. He knew the principals at Eagle and used AVL (Audio Visual Laboratories, Atlantic Highlands, NJ) equipment for his presentations. Charles A. Kappenman, one of the founders died last year, May 14, 2020.

How does nobody know who was driving in the car crash? There was a survivor. Once he came out from critical condition they didn't ask him who was driving? Also how is this a tale to learn from? I already knew not to crash my car into a ravine. All the prior decisions seemed pretty good.

at first I wanted to comment how ironic it was that he survived being shot out of the sky twice in Vietnam only to die crashing a car that wasn't even going half as fast, but then I remembered, you dont get to parachute out of a sports car now matter how James bond esc it is XD

My dad and the company he owned were pioneers in the multi-image projection field. At one point he was one of the top projectionists in the country using this technique. I remember seeing many Eagle and AVL computers in his warehouse. This brings back memories!

It's funny that there was a car company, named Eagle, which had a model called -Spirit-, in the early 80s. I drove what was basically an Eagle -Vision-('90-'97, but wasDodge's Clone: The -Intrepid- ('93-'97. Dodge did THIS after Eagle's Acquisition.

lol, I thought this was about the Eagle mini computer by Data General. :D (mentioned in the non-fiction book -The Soul of a New Machine- by Tracy Kidder -- the Eclipse was the computer project the book was about, but the Eagle was also discussed)
