I'm often asked things like: Why aren't there more Thrifts? What do you use to record them? How often do you go thrifting? So in between normal LGR episodes, here's an extra one to answer those! - Here are the camera glasses I use if I'm not using my phone

I know what you mean. I go to a goodwill about once a week that located right behind my work building. Most of the time it's just the same old boring stuff. But there has some Good stuff that I've bought from that place. Like an Original FAT PS2 that came with a bunch of random cables and a golfing game along with a broken 1st party Sony branded Dualshock 2 controller, Casio M-100 keyboard, the complete 15th season of Southpark, Welcome to PSN PS3 retailers demo disk, a weird Wii clone that I still haven't fully cleaned out the controlers heavily corroded battery terminals, and a few other things. But there has been times when I've seen old computer Joysticks and other odd computer stuff that I want to buy and try but I know that my current computers don't have the older ports that the Joysticks plug into.

I don't mind the loss of -the magic-, but i'm always off-put by these kinds of videos, because it's like the creator is mad at the fans. I know Clint's not, but it's kinda like being the quiet, studious kid in grade school when the rest of the class acts up and suddenly the teacher gets EVERYONE in trouble, including you. :/
That aside, yeah thrifting can be hard. I went in to my goodwill recently and found absolutely nothing, then went in the next day and found a sealed Seagate USB 3. 0 1TB external desktop HDD for three bucks. Yeah it was made in 2010, but need I remind you it was SEALED! Heck yeah I bought it, but that was after like t0+ fruitless visits before it.

I find videos like this really interesting just because I like seeing how things are put together. I knew it must take a while just due to how hard it can be to find things; however I had no idea how many little clips it must take to get a whole episode together. I try to go thrifting, but like most of mine are basically just clothes with tons of music cds (that is why I can totally get it taking a while. So the episodes and especially others finds shown at the end are really interesting and make me always give it another go when I usually come up empty. Thanks for the amazing videos that almost always have some interesting information that I didn't know before.

Tell you what, didn't even think that you'd wear camera glasses. I always assumed you just held up your mobile phone and wondered -Huh, are the staff okay with him filming the inside of the store like that? - So I've definitely learned a thing.
But I agree, the unedited footage started giving me motion sickness while the full videos never do, so your hard work and attention to detail definitely pays off there. Even those couple of minutes were enough to make me feel a little off.

Thank you for this episode although I didn't appreciate it so much on the first time I watched it nearly a year ago as I was on a kind of a streak of thriftstore finds. Now that I've got a few months that I've kind of streaked out with only couple of cheap douples and one or two actually inresting finds it's comforting to know that even Pro's need to work for their Thrifting; )

Kinda surprised you said you would record with your phone instead of the eyeglasses like I figured you were using. I would hope you are not just holding it up while walking around and have it kinda in your pocket or something like that. I could see you either being told not to do that or outright telling you to leave if you did the whole holding it out in the open.

Hey Clint. been watching tons of your videos for a while now. I started at the oldest and worked all the way up, love all your content. I really appreciate all the work behind making your videos, I never stopped to think how involved it is. Also, as someone who can easily get motion sickness, you taking that into consideration during your editing is beyond appreciated.

I can completely understand why these take so long, the stores like that near me have pretty much nothing electrical and mostly mid-2000s PC/PS2 games. If I can pickup a few decent music CDs I call it a success.
The work you put in to this series really shows though, love your commentary when the more unusual stuff does appear!

The way to be successful at thrifting involves perseverance, dedication, and accumulation of knowledge. These things all take time. Any thrifter worth his or her salt will be in there looking in a few categories AT MOST (I look at electronics, media, 35mm cameras, and bikes. It's how you can spot the real goods while moving past the dross.

Well I will say in a fan, by far, my first computer at the house was a zeos 286, with the old H-mga. I had to run threw basic and find the only two games on it. Dos 5. 0 shell was my window. One was nibbles, which we all know that a Nokia thing. The other was gorilla. It booted but never ran because of the lack of a color screen.
