My question is, who the f-ck thought - I want to play the Sims on a console. - It's a freaking click-to-go-here game. that dosen't translate to Controler friendly. Yes we have things like minecraft on consoles now when it was originally a PC thing, but minecraft doesn't make you use a click of a mouse to move your character, you use the W, S, A, D keys.
Not to mention, I'm not trying to shade people on what game they like to play, but who up and decides to play the Sims 4 on an Xbox one or Ps4? You don't do sh-t in the Sims, just sit there and look at your Sim and make them go places, and do things. its one of those games you sit back in your computer and play -Click here- and -Click there- -Click this- and -Click that-. All you do is click. so how do you map the controls of a game where everything is done by one simple finger click onto a controller?
Its easy. -YOU DONT-
Consoles were made for games like Spider-man, Halo, COD, ect.
No I'm not Saying you can't play it, I'm just saying, playing a game on a console that was made specifically with PC controls in mind is the worst possible experience you can have playing a game, while others out there are having and experiencing the sleek, catered, and polished controls that accompany this game on where it was ment to be played.

It's 2020, and there's no word of a Nintendo Switch version of The Sims 4. Why not release it on there in honor of the 20th anniversary of The Sims? I mean, the previous 3 Sims games got released on Nintendo consoles (minus the Wii U, so why neglect the Nintendo users again? Not that I badly want the game to come out on the Switch, but this seems like a missed opportunity. I think the Sims 4 would be nice to play on the Switch, even with the downgraded visual quality and whatnot. It's like EA went along and said -You know what? Screw Nintendo! We're not gonna give THEM a slice of The Sims 4, and those Nintendo fans that want the game might as well buy an Xbox or PlayStation, or a computer that can run it. -
I mean, DOOM 2016 got released on the Switch, with downgraded visuals and 30 FPS of course, but it was the full game, and it played decently. At this rate, there's no excuse for EA to not make a Switch port of The Sims 4.

this game is sooooo broken and bad. every time i tell a sim to do something they stare at a wall for 6 hours before doing what i told them to and sometimes after 6 hours of staring a wall they will just cancel the que I gave them and go do something else like play video games even though the are about to starve to death.
I almost had a toddler taken away because i tried to feed him when his hunger had just hit yellow and it took his parents over 7 hours to feed him. I told them to give the toddler food and they just stared at the toddler as he cried FOR 7 HOURS!
And why does it take them an hour to eat a meal. Even when they just grab leftovers and don't have to cook. Who takes an hour to eat a bowl of salad?
Easily the worst game I've ever played. I used to love sims games and sim city, sim theme park, but this is the worst one ever. Not just the worst sims game, it's the worst game I ever played.

-DO NOT BUY THE CONSOLE VERSION! - I wasted hundreds trying to make it fun only to realize it can't be done. You can get the expansions which I was excited about but alot of them get boring after maybe an hour. They have the gallery now but since consoles won't allow creators to import original mods or changes you're just looking at interesting houses and Sims that will ultimately simply exist in the same old boring gameplay. Without outside unique mods this game feels hollow and boring and you're left with the realization you were tricked out of alot of money by a game that was -purposely- made without depth so you feel the need to keep buying expansions to make it better. EA should be ashamed and I hope they get some competition who actually gives a shit about the quality of a product they put their name on.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I love The Sims 4 for console. I used to play all the time on my laptop with a mouse but my laptop crashed and I never got a new one because I always used computers at work or school. I love how on my PS4 it doesn't lag as much and I get to play it on the big TV screen, the only issue I have is like what you said with the controls and constantly having to go back to click something else. It takes some getting used to, but I'm glad they made it the same way as PC so console users can enjoy the game the same way.

I still like sims 3 for the Xbox 360. Except for the open world, and limiting households to 6 instead of 8 they had everything that was in the PC version. And that-s probably just hardware limitations. But it still segmented by the neighborhood so it still feels decently open.
And anything they removed they made up with in other places. Like adding parts of ambitions into the pets expansion, adding the karma system, challenges that influenced the karma system, etc. it was quite nice.

I got this as an Xbox Live deal for 5- so maybe I'm bias but I really don't mind the controls. A thumbstick isn't a mouse so true, you lack some accuracy but you can get used to it. Nothing in the menus is too small to hit. But I do sometimes have an issue with clicking on food when zoomed out. So find that I play it often more zoomed in that I would on PC. For those who are nostalgic for the Sims and don't have a gaming PC anymore, this is definitely a must buy.

Didn't mention it in the review, but I also tried adjusting the controller settings through the Xbox app to do so. It didn't help. The combination of the high stick acceleration and UI that lacks optimization for consoles, it's just a really irksome control scheme to get used to. Like I said in the video you _do_ become more accustomed to it after a couple hours, but there's no reason it should take that long and still remain aggravating even then.

in summary its the same thing but worst because the controls are not for a console and doesnt since the sims 2 the console games with story mode are gone because there are not story mod and you can walk with your sim like the older games
yeah definitely sims 3 and 4 are better in PC i dont understand the point for ps4 port when control and everything and vaguely programed for console controls

sounds like they just mapped the mouse controls over to the analogue stick without optimizing it, rage 2 has the same problem it makes the game unplayable.
also you can't really play sims without a mouse and keyboard that's what it was designed for, my last experience with a sims game on console was sims 2 for gamecube the controls were just awful, never again will i play sims on a console.
