I've never been much of a fan of edutainment. It feels like it's trying too hard and kids can smell that kind of desperation a mile off. -Oh, you want to teach me something? Fack no. I'm gonna roll in mud and eat something disgusting to impress my mates. - Besides, I always learned much more from video games that happened to be informative than specifically educational video games.
Civilisations and Age of Empires taught me loads about history and got me interested enough to learn more. Simulation games like Operation Flashpoint taught me about complex systems, problem solving, map reading and team work. Hell, even dumb shooters have their place. It's because of Doom that I learned that mars had two moons called Phobos and Deimos.
Kids are like information sponges. They can pick this stuff up on their own if the package is entertaining enough to keep them engaged.

I've never encountered 'Museum Madness' before but it's one that I'm sad I missed and am tempted to have a play off now (I wonder if it's abandonware? Strikes me it's more of a general 'puzzles' point-and-click adventure than anythign overly educational, though there's definitely some educational stuff mixed in. And some WEIRD stuff too, but hey, it was the 90s; and -edutainment-. The only thing that's dampened my enthusiasm slightly is that sudden, cold ending (seriously, they could saved time on that maze - boy I'm gonna hate that maze - and cobbled together a 'proper' ending at least) but I still think it might be on my list to taqke a look at sometime soon.

have you considered to review the Knowledge Adventure edutainment games? 3D Dinosaur Adventure/Kids' Zoo, Undersea Adventure, 3D Body Adventure, Space Adventure/SPEED? I grew up with those edutainment games on a 1993 or 1994 Packard Bell computer with Windows 3. 1 when i was a little boy, and i'd LOVE to see you cover them. I still think that 3D Body Adventure is probably the creepiest of them all, because of the graphics displayed when it covers the reproductive system, and even the narrator's voice quality is startling in those sections compared to the others in the reference library.

I downloaded DOS Box along some DOS games, the problem is one of the games is Elder Scrolls Arena and I typed in the mount command to mount the game to c: dive using
mount c c: \es1a it either says - Mount: Illegal Command- or Mount c c: \es1a doesn't exist-
I need help with installing my DOS games, any tips or suggestions on how to fix the issue?

Goodness, I worked in a museum for years and nothing like this ever happened to us. Im very glad about that too lol My work laptop was very well behaved most of the time. The curator of archaeology (my boss) did once get a telephone cord wrapped around her chair and then dropped a box of finger bones while trying to get free.

I had this game as a kid. I was actually thinking just other night that I wanted to see LGR review this game, but I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called. Personally, I always thought it was fun, but I never had any clue what I was doing or supposed to do, but hey, it's a good example of 90s nostalgia.

Oh the early 90's, when a game that involves a friendly helper robot tell you that the computer and everything connected to the computer has been corrupted by a virus DOESN'T have the -shocking- twist that the helper robot either was the source of the computer virus or has been controlled by the virus all along. right?

Wait a second!
1: 30 let's read that shall we.
-How Big is the Universe? -
The Earth and the Moon. the Solar System and the entire galaxy is out of order! Can you put it back together again.
DUDE! The galaxy is doomed! I think the -Discovery of Radio- can wait for a moment whilst we fix the entire galaxy.

Wait, so the super sapient robot that controls the entire museum network runs off what looks like 2 standard for early 90s AA NiCd or NiMH batteries?
wut?
On a side note, I love adlib music. That very specific synth sound only adlib has makes me feel like I'm around 12-14 again.
