I think a reasonable explanation for your most viewed/watched videos is your age/demographic. I'm going to assume that many people close to your age (like me) are both nostalgic and have a higher chance of a decent disposable income, and are interested in building/buying systems from their childhood. I actually watched the iPaq video because I had one at the same age as you, and I watched the crappy gateway video as I spent quite a while buying/selling vintage laptops to evaluate their ability to run older games (for me, it's a space thing - I don't want a full desktop or CRT. I think this also might be part of the reason your game review videos aren't as popular anymore - I don't need a review of Unreal/other vintage title - we were playing these when they came out (not saying there is anything wrong with them, the younger audience may never have experienced them before. We are far more interested in how to recreate that nostalgic experience. but, that's just my guess: )

What happens to me is I'll watch a couple of your recent videos that maybe didn't show up in my sub box then a few other ones will probably end up in my recommendations and usually it's older stuff I hadn't been able to scroll down far enough to find.
I definitely watch the full videos although I'll admit the technical stuff usually goes over my head, I'm not the best with that. but the content is really interesting to me and I definitely rec your videos to people because they're just fascinating. I always recommend the video of you refurbishing the hot wheels computer because for some reason that one sticks in my head.
Also I may be a good number of those 3DS views. sometimes you're just too lazy to get your computer

Since you mentioned doing cameras and portables, I figured I'd say I've really enjoyed those, especially the retro camera stuff. But also I always was obsessed with -PDAs- back when they were called that instead of phones, mainly from a place of not having one and wondering how much stuff they could really do. It seems silly now but I used to fantasise about docking and syncing emails and stuff like that haha. By the time I was getting into contemporary portable computing it was all directly connected to the internet anyway instead of syncing with outlook or whatever the program would be in people's use cases.

Your videos are relevant! Tech Tales are amazing for people like me who love business strategy and tech history, specially cautionary tales since the media usually only focuses mostly on success stories.
All the other videos serve nostalgia and allow people to discover stuff that got lost in time. It-s fun, entertaining and with learning involved as well. That means it-s as relevant as any media content can be!
Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing what you love with the rest of us. Have a great 2019!
(Btw Portugal here)

The UK one kinda makes sense since home computing and microcomputers were extremely prevalent in the 80s and early-mid 90s and quite a number of us grew up with that e. g. Spectrum, C64, Amiga etc.
I also love to watch the Thrifts Episodes, especially when hung over after overdoing it with beer and whisky the previous night! :D

Congratulations on all your success! 1 million subs is a huge milestone. Now that your fanbase is 1M strong, perhaps it's time for a meetup? I seem to recall you saying that meetups weren't your thing quite a while ago, but. A meetup is probably just wishful thinking, but I had to ask.

As to why people like watching videos about things that are irrelevant. Sometimes it's just nice to think about things that don't matter anymore. It's a nice break from whatever horribleness the world is trying to inflict on us all. Thanks for all the quality content this year.

Denmark is in the Top 10. What?
Well, I'm from Denmark. But still. Denmark is a small country. There's only like 5. 8 mio. people in Denmark in total. That's like less than a lot of individual states in America.
So I was very surprised about that stat alone.

Okay. please do not give up on the older Monster hunter games! They do not suck, besides maybe tri! xD Plus, I would say Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is far better than world. If you were thinking about checking them out I really think you should!

I'm tempted to install a super obscure OS to watch all your videos on now to make the 2019 end of year vid. I love your reviews of old games, been watching them for a long-ass time now and you'll always be Lazy Game Reviews in my heart! Here's to a great 2019.
