The overall quality of the worlds has dropped too. In Get Together, Windenburg had at least 20+ buildable lots, this pack has 12, the rest is set dressing. That s like a game pack s worth of lots, and even then, game packs give only about 4 lots.

This pack somehow feels like both a major improvement to Sims 4 and a disappointment at the same time. A lot of these features have been sorely needed for a while and will have a huge impact on improving day to day gameplay, but at the same time, this pack feels like a game pack masquerading as an expansion pack. I feel that instead of spending time making yet another pretty but lifeless suburban world, they could have instead spent more time and money on new gameplay features to really make this pack worthwhile. It also feels odd having another San Francisco inspired world when we already had one with San Myshuno (even though this one is addmittedly much more of a direct inspiration whereas Myshuno was a mish-mash of different cities)

Im a Sims 4 builder 90% of the time. The biggest problem for me with the game now is that it is nearly 10 years old.
Thats not to say its ageing badly, in fact with the updates over the years at base game it s considerably better then when it launched.
However the game is fundamentally flawed by the worlds. The worlds are just lame, ascetically they look nice but they have no personality.
They are such a large step back from the Sims 3. The worlds in the Sims 4 when I m not building just don t immerse me in the same way. I think its partly the lack of lots you can go to, the fact that all lots are essentially just flat spaces with slightly different textures and mostly there just isn t much to explore.

I've been watching your reviews since nearly a decade ago and I still click on your videos instantly the second they pop up, and while your objectivity is the best thing about your reviews, I miss the spark of passion and humour that you once displayed in troves in your Sims 3 reviews. And I don't blame you at all! I find that there's a lot to be desired with every Sims 4 expac to the point where I hardly play the game anymore, and it makes me wish for greener pastures too with Paralives and similar games. I hope Life by You and other future offerings bring back back the passion you had for life simulation games, as I definitely look forward to your reviews for those!

I'm enjoying your reviews even if I don't share your opinion. I think this pack is worth my money and I'm enjoying the game. It's too bad I feel hesitant to admit that I prefer Sims 4 over Sims 3 because it's not common to think so but I'll just continue having fun while playing Sims 4 and others can do whatever they feel like doing, such as playing the other sims games. I hate how toxic and hostile this community has become. I get that some of you want the game to improve but let's not forget that EA was greedy way before Sims 4 and also that if you don't like Sims 4 you don't have to play it and attack those who like it. No one is forcing you to buy the expansions.

It does seem like with every expansion pack, there never seems to be enough to really push things over the edge and make me say wow this is truly amazing. It just kind of hangs on that edge. This was a good pack for me since it is focused on family gameplay. I feel the sms packs are crazy overpriced though, it pulls me out of it when I get into a different game and everything is reasonably priced, and the devs give amazing dlc plus some great content for free. So it does come off stingy and greedy at times, which people notice. Rushed. Unfixed bugs. Complaints. Unhappy players. I love the sims but it could be so much better, and more. It is a shame

This definitely seems like the best update they've given to the Sims 4 in ages. All of that looks and sounds awesome.
If only I played The Sims 4. I just can't get past it. The Sims 3 was a great simulation, with all the bells and whistles you'd expect. The Sims 4 is a dollhouse; the main gameplay comes from getting your little Sims to interact, and be whacky, and kooky, and crazy. And I just. don't want that. I don't want to play with my dolls; I want to simulate their lives. This expansion is a step closer to that, but only after taking something like 20 steps back.

Honestly after watching this video I am definitely waiting until it goes on sale because someone who doesn't have a lot of money I rather wait because I want something more than what should have already been in the base game or something that should be more fulfilling the fact they separate expansion packs from the Sims 3 is sad I mean now I am waiting for life by you or paralives by they seem to make their games more fulfilling and listening to fans than ea so hopefully paralives and life by you come on console as well snice I only have a console.

Never felt the need to move on from the Sims 3, but I still love to see every new LGR Sims 4 review that comes out. Even all these years into it.
I hadn't heard of Paralives and Life by You before, so I just checked them out on Steam--Definitely promising to see some fresh ideas for this style of game!
I'm playing Generations IRL for the first time in my life right now though, but maybe when my little one is a bit older, we'll be able to enjoy some Sims / Sims-style gaming again together.

Another expansion that's essentially just what we already had in Sims 3, with a few adjustments. Can't believe it took them this long just to add something as basic as toddlers.
Not looking forward to the next Sims game, and whatever basic features they strip from it and sell back to us, but I am very interested in these Sims competitors. Competition already put Sim City to shame. Wouldn't be surprised if a studio not owned by EA was able to outdo them on The Sims as well.

Unlike some of the the bigger EA game changers, I love that LGR keeps it real while being fair and objective about the EP. I totally agree that this pack feels very watered down and severely lacking in a lot of areas. In the words of thesimyin, this is much more akin to a 20 game pack, not a 40 EP. Even worse, most of us are arguing that a lot of these features could have been base game (like the milestones, memories, dynamics, etc. Simply not cutting it in my opinion.

I fully understand why you stop doing The Sims videos except for major packs but I still miss your reviews. In the past, I always waited for your review before buying (or not buying) a new pack. The reason why you are a great and most trusted The Sims reviewer is that your opinion is not clouded by excitement and hype when a new pack is coming like most of the other reviewers. I am very glad to hear that you will cover Paralives and Life by You in the future.

The cable bridge looks like the one here in Boston. Which is the same architect who built the bridge in Istanbul.
I can't even play any EA games on my PC anymore. I forced closed origins when it wanted to update to the new app. And I was like F. No! Lol. I'll be waitinf for them to patch it and all the crap they break first before I am willing to try going back to any of my games on it, like the sims 3 & 4, jedi fallen order & dragon age inquisition.

I got bored of the Sims 4 about 2 years ago. I could play a bit here and there, but nothing close to what I used to play. This expansion was the update I needed to get back in. I love it despite them over-tuning the check on newborn and infant interactions. Sims 4 still has some weird pathing issues where Sims go way out of their way to do stuff. I hope that the upcoming competitors make the Sims team step it up a notch and make the Sims 5 better

Idek why I m watching this because I uninstalled my game a few weeks ago. The Sims 4 is a very pretty game, but it s so boring. I bought most of the expansions and game packs (on sale) and I get bored of them after just a few hours. The idea of playing the game is more fun than the reality at this point. Maybe it s cause I m an adult and not a 12 year old anymore but I just don t enjoy playing the sims the way I used to
