Everything Dune Part 2 Got Wrong From The Book

Sometimes, there's just not enough room for all the babies in the midst of intergalactic warfare. From altered villains to compressed timelines, here's how Dune: Part Two departed from its source material. Dune 2 Writing room: Lets take Jamis' public opposition to Paul's divinity and stick it onto Chani's character. Then Chani gets to train Paul, be close with Paul, and also at the same time publicly oppose the prophecy Paul is linked to and in the end reject him.
Hokay, shouldn't Chani call Paul out, Jamis style, if she truly fears that Paul's prophecy wil harm the tribe Or call out Jesica This only takes away from Jamis' sacrifice. Omissions, swaps and tacked on hypocritical character motives. Neat.

I didn't care for the time jump, but it does work for this movie. Also, no Thufir Hawat in the movie (when in book, he was made into Harkonnen's mentat where he slowly and subtly tried to sabotage the Harkonnen, no Count Fenring (husband of Lady Fenring-the one preserving the Harkonnen family line. Fenring was the 'almost' KH. So his presence would've been great to see the comparison of the 'almost' KH and the 'KH. '
SPOILER
When they make Jessica 'colder, ' I can totally see her abandoning Alia the way the Dune novel did. I mean, Jessica left Alia to go back to Caladan and didn't return until Alia is mid 20s

The person who wrote the script for this video doesn’t know what they are talking about at times. James McAvoy played Paul’s SECOND son born years after the first son died. They both were named Leto II, so that might have been what caused the confusion. Still, any wiki page would easily explain this. The second Leto II has a twin sister. They are both pre-born like their aunt Alia, although I don’t believe they shared her mental illness caused from the memories/personalities of their ancestors.

i don't think they got it wrong. they made decisions that make more sense in a movie. not everything that is written in a book makes sense on the big screen, and the 1984 movie proved this. the 1984 movie feels like a joke compared to the Dune movies from 2021/2024. imagine milking a cat in 2024: )

Having Feyd-Rautha tested with the gom jabbar certainly changed the emphasis of his character. Keeping Thufir Hawat out was, in my opinion, a big mistake. Mentats have huge importance, and Paul's training as one is part of his being able to navigate his prescience without going mad.

The thing is that Looper appear not to have read the book as they are getting major plot lines wrong in this summary about how the film differed from the book. Please do your research otherwise you loose credibility with you viewers.

The posing and staging looks cringe and wannabe-edgy compared to past media, it was cool during the times of Blade the Vampire hunter, but guess the new generations wouldn't notice especially with all the movements going on these days.

I would have liked to see more Christopher Walken. No meeting between a guild Navigator and the emperor! That was a letdown. The movie was good, but I would have preferred more substance less ambience.

I was confused throughout the entire movie until the actor turned into a demon. However, this was nothing new, as most movies have used prophecies before. It was at this point that I became bored.

I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. Sadly though I was highly disappointed in it. Was not impressed at all. Sorry. Not sorry. I'd rather watch the old version again.

This movie was really good but the dune 2000 version has a better story and its 6 hours long then watch children of dune a other 6 hours but its goes over 3 books.
