Quick reminder that Dune part 2 needs to gross between $475 million - $570 million at box office in order to break even against production budget of $190 million so WBD and Legendray entertainment can green lit Dune part 3, It’s also worth noting that Dune: Part Two doesn’t release in China until March 8, the first movie is re-releasing this coming weekend in an effort to stoke interest. Dune: Part One similarly has re-released in about 60 markets leading up to this weekend. For Part Two, Japan joins on March 15 and the Middle East (save for the UAE and Lebanon which go this weekend) on April 11. Part of the Middle East will be in previews for seven days starting this week, then will go dark during Ramadan before officially opening on April 11.

I'm actually glad I couldn't see it opening weekend. I read the spoiler reviews since I already knew the story. I do not like the changes that were made, even more than I didn't like the changes in the first. It feels like he changed the characters too much, especially with how they used the atomics. And not having the 2-3 year time jump and Alia cinched it for me. I'll be content waiting for it to be on Netflix. The Sci-Fi miniseries is still my favorite anyway!

11 out of 10 for me. Hit all the right notes. was true enough to the source material to satisfy me as a friend the the minor liberties they took were acceptable. Visually stunning on par with, surpassing actually, Blade Runner 2049 (and I LOVED that movie's visual style. Sound in IMAX was superb. All performances were top notch. There simply wasn't a single thing not to love. Orgasmic for Herbert fans and totally solid sci-fi for casual viewers.

The first movie blew me away, same goes for this one. There is just something about DUNE and how we can relate it to real world problems which makes it amazing. Denis Villeneuve's vison of DUNE mixed with Hans Zimmer's incredible score make these two films as close to perfection as you can get. Sure- part two isn't super accurate to the books, but that doesn't detract from the masterpiece that it is.

I enjoyed the book and I thought the Lynch version was passable. The first part of this modern adaptation was horrible and I refuse to waste my time and money watching the second part. People have been conditioned by years of puss filled moldy garbage that a movie that's just moldy garbage seems sweet. No, it's still garbage even without the puss.

It's simple, but how many real-world perspectives were in the movie How about any gender bias Is there a woke message Are the characters well-written How were the character arcs It was a good movie with none of the BS we've seen in other films that have underperformed. That's probably why it did well.

Too long and a bit boring. The first one was better.
I like how they all have advanced weapons and everyone just uses a sword lol
Like if the US went into Iraq with their tanks and guns, but decided, nah forget that, get your swords out boys: )

Thanks for showing up Looper Guy. Your voice is great. Dune and Dune 2 were amazing. It repeats the constant story of invaders taking over an indigenous peoples land for fun and profit. Seems to be an historical trend with humanity.

It's not often a sequel is better than the original, but in this case I find it hard to argue otherwise. Dune 2 was so good.
Not perfect, but had so much depth and the script and filmography were fabulous

Always enjoyed the Chanel. Great commentary and some good humour. But the new cut aways to the talking head suck imo.
I hope they don't stay as for me they really detract from your videos.

Will wait or download it like I did the 1st Dune. Can't do 3 hours in a theater! NOPE! Besides. I can get a dime of weed and a bottle of vodka for that admission price!

I don't go to the movies often. The last movie I saw in theaters was Infinity War. I've already seen Dune twice. I'm already looking forward to seeing it again

Kinda telling how David Lynch’s original faltered in the box-office especially with serious competition from Beverly Hills Cop at that time

Dune Part II is finally here after a slump box office of January-February. Movies like Argylle and Madame Web just can’t hold a grudge.

It's because it's actually a good movie, not because it has some big stars. There have been plenty of recent star-studded flops.
