Its a psychological thing you know.
First Time Love, you can’t recreate it, even if the next Experience will be more awesome.
First Time e Love. Because you never experienced something like this before.
First Time seeing Star Wars in 1979. Luke Skywalker will always be Mark Hamill. Because its the First Experience like this.
First Time playing Doom in 1993, because its the First FPS.
Blade will be always Wesley Snipes.
Terminator will be always Arnold.
Brand Lee will be always The Crow.
Superman is always Christoper Reeves, even when other Superman Actors are also awesome. The Emotional, heartfelt connect we have, this is whats makes it.
One thing i will admit, Obi Wan Kenobi, Alec Guinness, first Time experience, the Hello there, i am back in the Time and where i was when i first saw this.
However, Ewan McGregor nailed it. He is also Obi Wan. I was first very very concerned, because i knew Ewan from Train Spotting.

Just saw it a few days ago. It was actually pretty cool but sadly I think most will automatically hate it because of loyalty to Brandon Lee and nostalgia is driving them to hate any reimagining of The Crow. The action was cool. It was dark, gritty, and violent. Way more than the original. They expand on the love of Eric and Shelly vs the 94 version where we know little to nothing about her other than flashbacks and not much dialog. I had no issue with the acting. My only criticism is I wanted more explanation of the big bad guy. I hope people can be open minded and give this a chance. Nobody will ever replace Brandon Lee but it's been 30 years since his version. Be open minded and give Skarsgard a chance.

I don't even need to watch this video to know why it bombed. Hollywood can't leave well enough alone. The original The Crow is not only a masterpiece but a solemn memory of the late, great Brandon Lee. The trailer for this new iteration looks like hot garbage with zero soul, lousy effects, terrible casting and a terrible score. If they want to remake films, fine but if it can't be better that the original forget about it. Hollywood has become lazy. No more original ideas or stories. Everything is a revamp, a retelling any anything but compelling.

Maybe crow as a character isn’t what people don’t wanna see I saw it and I thought it was pretty good and has great moments. The beginning was pretty rocky and I understand what they were going for but all in all I thought it was a good fun time and i thought about more after seeing it. Not sure what peoples unrealistic expectations were but the opinions I hear about it are incredibly shallow and negative for no reason and very close minded. I read up on the character too and it sounded like this movie perfectly adapted the character.

The original Crow wasn’t even that good imo. However, the death of Bruce Lee’s son during the filming of the movie brought it to infamy. Stars are always worth more dead unfortunately.
I honestly think the movie would’ve been way better if they had been able to finish it. There was a whole subplot with Skull Cowboy played by the legendary Michael Berryman. Regarding the new Crow, I knew it was going to be garbage when I saw the face tatts. Face tatts are for posers, unless you’re a legit tattoo artist lmao

The movie had been in development hell for years. Actors and directors came and went. I’ve always believed it was because they couldn’t come up with anything that would be equal to or surpass the original. There was a serious backlash to it from the very beginning including from cast and crew from the original. Now I haven’t seen the movie and so I will reserve my judgment until I do see it. That being said this was the remake no one wanted for a variety of reasons and it’s affected it’s box office.

You put too much emphasis on the marketing, and marketing related aspects of the release. You barely mention the changes to both the original movie, and the comic book lore: those changes were not going to attract fans of the source material. So who was the movie made for Fans of The Crow shunned it, and people new to the story found it underwhelming. The movie simply wasn't very good for the general public, and the fans simply were not going to like it.

I think it was a great movie. On par with the Brandon Lee film. I think we've got too many cry babies chokin' down MAGA style memberberries, deciding that anything that isn't exactly like what they already know is going to be bad. Too bad not a one of them was a fan of the original graphic novel. The 2024 Crow was much closer to that than the Brandon Lee film (although a great and epic movie) was.

People keep saying nobody asked for this movie. Granted, that may be true, but there are plenty of movies that have been successful this year that can be said about (Aliien. You only say that when the movie sucks. If the movie was good, you never hear people say that. The movie had a bad plot (when it deviated from the original, with bad acting, and dumb side side quest. It sucked!

haven't seen it have no desire to, it will not be better than the original with Brandon Lee, they have tried before, with a reboot, and even a crappy TV series, that flopped, because it wasn't needed and the story of Eric Draven was to get even with the his and his girl friends murder, by the people and their boss of who did it. done end of movie, they tried again failed

Not only did I not ask for this, but had anyone inquired, I'd have told them I prefer NOT to see a remake of this movie. It seems somehow disrespectful, not fun, and it only reminds me of the tragedy of Brandon Lee, which I can revisit anytime I want in the already perfect original. There's no way to improve on this film, and it's been pitifully sequel'd to death.

1. Too much competition on an otherwise dead month of August.
2. Nobody asked for a remake.
3. It had been in development for 16 years and they waited way too late.
4. Bill Skarsgard isn’t quite a box office draw and the remake has zero star power.
5. Lionsgate track record of box office duds in 2024 continues to hurt the studios profits.

I’ve already seen the crow the Eric version. They should have done what prey did for the predator franchise they should have gone back into the Native American lore. Used the same team and actors that did prey like they do with American horror story seasons. It’s a shame, this film damaged any chance to make a good movie version of the crow.

There’s just times where a movie is so perfect that a remake will always be a letdown in a huge way. The Crow is a film that could only happen once. Only once.
Can the general concept make other movies in the Crow universe work Yes. And they should explore that. But Eric Draven was Brandon Lee and Brandon Lee was Eric Draven.

Nothing more than a Hollywood cash grab with nostalgia. The original will always be superior. It was, for its time, the loudest dark movie. The tone, music, heart, all if it was felt by the audience. We knew it was Brandon Lee, but we believed Eric Draven and his heartbreak. Every thing that cane after was for money.

It's no surprise that it bombed at the box office, this is a remake no one wanted. Another movie that bombed recently, Borderlands, I may hate on that movie for various reasons, but this movie, I hate it because its disrespectful. The Crow, the original, was really good, Brandon Lee will always be the real Crow.

Well I only seen the classic The Crow a few times, and it is a sweet movie. By the late Brandon Lee, who passed on the set of The Crow . Which remember playing out in the news at that the time, and if this reboot truly sucks! Then I wait to see elsewhere perhaps. And this why think Hollywood should stop on the reboots.

The film makers confused the original Gothic & Sentimental with Emo & Edgy aesthetic. Looper mentions a lot of things that the original also didn't have and they can't keep deadpool out of they're mouth. The movie was bland compared to the original. Hollywood somehow thought that Jared Leto's joker was good inspiration.

This way of thinking is why no new stories get told make a movie with a good plot good characters and a compelling story and it will be successful it doesn't have to be linked to an IP or a franchise I'm so tired of every single movie and every single TV show being tied to something else have an original thought

Why make a remake that noone wanted or asked for. And with bad cgi blood.
Because Hollywood has run out of ideas. And all they do is. Lets do something original lets do a remake. Just read that the next rumoured remake is Fight Club with an allstar FEMALE cast.
Good luck with that. Yikes
