Unlike Sweeney Todd or Sleepy Hallow, the setting for the Beetlejuice movies is supposed to be 100% American in casting, so it should be understandable why one of my favorite English actresses of all time didn't get to land the role of BJ's ex-bride. I have never seen Helena Carter be paired up with Michael Keaton for roles that involves such a relationship the way she was paired up with Johnny Depp for some of his roles in Burton movies and I don't recall M. K. and H. B. C. being in a scene together in any of their films and this film proves that such a role pairing between M. K and H. B. C. is going to continue to be from being unlikely to never going to happen in a million years. Its the sad truth and a regretful fact.

You guys, I saw Beetlejuice in the theater at age 9, and it's been my favorite movie ever since. For years, nearly every week my mom would pay the public library $1 to rent it for me. I had the soundtrack (which, sadly, only has two Harry Belafonte songs, though the Danny Elfman score is excellent by itself. Eventually I bought my own DVD copy. It was just sooooo refreshingly different from anything else out there. I would like this sequel to be really good, of course, though if it's not, I will still always have the original.

We know the first film is a classic. My thing is nobody being original it's too many people trying to get rich off somebody else's idea. The original films they are making suck. That counting on previous fans is going to shoot you in the foot. They got it right the first time. It was a hit, but then did not get a sequel.

You can NOT listen to ANY critics opinions at all these days.
That being said, we are still going to see it and HOPE that it is at least decent! Hopefully good and gives Tim Burton another win in his late career

The first one only had Beetle in 10 minutes of screen time w/ the rest of the cast carrying the movie quite well Beetle will
have tons more screen time here so it might ruin that formula

The only negative reviews, like Vanity Fair, are whining about it being not deep enough, or merely funny, and Id say thats the best thing to expect from the movie.

Been waiting forever for this sequel, I don't mind waiting a bit longer and the fact the initial reactions are positive Hell yes. Couldn't be happier.
