I'm a super fan of the Witcher books and 3rd game. I hated seasons 1-3. I really liked this season. I think it is much more close the book content with the exception of some things that may be remnants of the mistakes made in prior seasons. l like Liam way better than Henry and think he fits the role more naturally. I thought the casting of the characters was much better this time around. I liked Leo. Regis, Milva, Skellen and the astrologer. I thought Maeve was miscast. The musical part was not great and I fast forwarded through that. There are a lot of high points this time around. If you don't like Ciri in the Rats and the characters all over the place, then you don't like the actual original story. I think if you really enjoy the Witcher universe without bias, you will enjoy season 4. Cool easter eggs - jade figurine, Cantarella, Diametrium, wraith.

I was positively surprised after the first two episodes. Getting used to Liam as Geralt was surprisingly easy. After ep 2 it barely bothered me at all. Also, they have been following the books pretty decently, at least compared to the season 2 clown show. Of course things more more rapidly than in the books, but Ciri's story seems promising in its bleakness. Personally I don't mind speeding up the pace and progress of Ciri's storyline, because it's at times quite exhausting in the books. Sapkowski really messed up a lot of the second half of the book series and it's a real mess of a story. So that's one thing showrunners may actually improve.
All said. After season 2 my expectations were 0. Season 3 was surprisingly loyal to books. I had very little expectations for season 4, but it seems promising despite replacing Henry.

why do execs that own the ip keep hiring people who don't give a damn about the ip i suspect it's because no one in the room does and the execs are impressed by the creative enthusiasm of these candidates (read massive egos) who lust to make it their own and bring in new audiences/money at the end of the meeting it's a no brainer for them.
lack of money can kill something, but too much third party money leads to being bought and ruining it. is that the inevitable destiny

Cavilles Witcher did not need a supporting cast of 7 other fighters around him; Maybe the Vampire and the archer but not six others fighting around him. Carville's Witcher was a bad ass even hurt would have handled his business fighting and his master swords skills and magic. It made the your Witcher look nnd feel weak and much less significant to the overall story. This choices are not so much Liams decisions as it was just bad writing and storyline and direction!

I think Liam did fine job as Geralt. Even Henry looked weird with that wig and did not look nothing like him from the books, but the problem was writing definitely. I liked vampire Regis portrayed by Lawrence even if race swapped. The musical number with Jaskier was insufferable and all the magic fighting was awful. Killing Vesemir was a bad choice. Ciri's storyline was the most interesting to me even tho her personality switched instantly which was off.

They should rename the series Yennefer and Friends because damn Anya Chalotra really nails her role and Ciri was pretty cool. Definitely a good season for Yennefer. That Hogwarts-y battle was pretty cool
But sorry to say but I was shocked because Liam is a subpar Geralt. He feels more like a biker dude in Cali than Geralt his line deliveries were cringey. It’s pretty obvious that he was just here for the pay, not to embrace the character

Yeah, the writing, the plot, I simply crashed out and fell asleep. the costumes, the makeup I am fine with those. The actions, Liam is fine. But the massive liability in the writing section really killed me. Suicide by Season 4 is now POSSIBLE WAY to die.

It's like the producers hated The Witcher so much that they wanted to destroy the character and make sure nobody would touch it ever again.
I wonder how may years will pass before we have the TV adaptation that the story deserves, similar to what the game Witcher 3 Wild Hunt has done.
And, although I was skeptical at first, I agree with the majority - Henry Cavill is Geralt. Like he is Superman. He just is.

It is dumb that the writers thought that they could make it THE WITCH Her, IT IS A SERIES ABOUT GERALT, The game is about Geralt, all this supporting characters are just there to SUPPORT the Adventures of Geralt. Anyways, if they only stuck to the games, and books this could have been easily a money maker for them but no, dumbass writers thinks they will write it better. LMAO.

I just finished watching The Witcher S4 it was total crap, as someone who read all the 5 books of witcher. the only thing I loved is Ep6 a battle is one of the strongest of all the episodes in my opinion. But what really made me think is this character that been introduced in the show her name is Nimue. Will nimue replace yenefer

Hollywood producers and writers either don't understand fantasy or they simply hate it. All fantasy adaptations nowdays are complete horseshit. They just need a strong IP with a big fanbase, but all they do is destroy one IP after the other. After the disaster of the GoT's last season everything went to shit for fantasy adaptations.

Season 4 is a MESS! Certainly not entertaining as Netflix is no longer entertaining. I 'v canceled my subscription to Netflix. The other streaming services have surpassed Netflix and have much more interesting and have an authentic truth so that they feel adventurous, imaginatively realistic, and fun like YOUR SHOWS USE BE

Tried my best watched all the 8 episodes. But it feels like the soul of the show is gone with Henry leaving. I know it's been said a million times before, but they literally had gold. They should have just stayed closer to the source material. Could have went down as one of the greatest TV series in a really long time.

The best thing about this season was the (RAT'S) getting killed and decapitated. All of them was annoying but then they expect you to watch (RAT'S) spin off movie after season 4 F that. The only movie to do with rat's that I'm going to watch is Ratatouille or a TMNT master Splinter special if there is one.
