I have a theory I'd like to believe that Groot's people are known as Groots. The Groot that we see as a monster in the 60s is a different Groot from the same alien race. When the race of Groots is killed off in multiple wars, the destruction of their home planet and disease, the Groot that we now know and love was one of the mentally impaired 'special' Groots. Before their planet is destroyed, his family places him in an escape pod and in order to remind him of his heritage, his family tells him before firing his escape pod Remember, you are a groot! He's launched and comes into the possession of a mad scientist known for taking various creatures and performing experiments on them. It is here where he meets Rocket and the two eventually escape the scientist's clutch to become smugglers and mercenaries.

You say this is video about the worst things Groot has ever done but the last two things were that he protected intelligent mammals from other Groots (who seemed to be more of a bullies) and the last is that he is transformed into big monster like that first Groot. but again you even said that it was done to him by other heroes in pursuit of cure for world. isnt than the last things Iron Man fault? He was the one who turned him into monster again. Its not like Groot wanted it right?

Here's my theory: Each time Groot rebuilds his body from a twig he is actually a different being. With this is mind, Evil Groot is merely an original form of him. However evil Groot died, giving birth to slightly less evil Groot, then dying giving birth to slightly less evil Groot again. This happens over many decades, maybe even hundreds of years, until we have the Groot that is in Guardians of the Galaxy.

I could agree with that if we didnt actually know that everyone of his race says I am Groot and even its stated that he was rejected by his race cuz he was soft as to say. So more or less those acts could very easily be done by members of his race and not him. Im not stating he is saint but im sure you are reaching over your head with this one.

The Groot in Vol. 2 is royalty. There's one part where Starlord uses Groot to get the Guardians a seat on a galactic council. And I'm not sure each tree is literally named Groot because it also says that Groot speaks a very complex language if you listen. He's also very intelligent in Vol. 2 helping stop a giant rip in time-space.

This video is a year old tomorrow, but here's an idea; what if all of the groots all came from the same, evil groot? Like that groot was broken down into a thousand sticks and they all grew into different groots? I like that idea because it means that groot has some evil in him.
