Everything Coming To Netflix In August 2017 iRena: It is wrong to mess with a writer's words, his work, and then claim it to be his original writings. Can you find the original writings of Adam Smith, Karl Marx, Sir Isaac Newton, Hitler, or L Ron Hubbard? Netflix - how easy it is now to alter digital content, dialogue and scenes, and pass it off as original, rather than new and improved? The lack of honesty or concern about authenticating works as original and untouched by others, is appalling. It is not written that God commanded the destruction of the tower of babel, or destroyed it, but he scattered the people so they left off from working on it. But fallen man keeps creating forgeries, or passing the work of others as being that of another. after a while, it becomes difficult to trust any work of historical record put forth by central authority agencies. I hate Netflix. Difficult to trust them, especially seeing how they no longer carry many, ovies but save those they consider popular or top ten. Where is the documentary, Manufacturing Consent, by Noam Chomsky, or the moviem, Running,
starring Michael Douglas?

Pfft! Neflix content isn't even that good in USA, never mind Europe! They are clearly ramping up their TV content, but what does that mean? Unless you're in your early 20's. most of us don't watch TV (who do you think watches Reality TV.
I would guess nearly 80% of Netflix's content are box office mediocrity or outright flops. If you'll notice Netflix removed the public ratings system for each movie to show how popular that particular film was with Netflix viewers. Turns out that except for the classics (Lawrance Of Arabia, Gone With The Wind) nearly every movie was rated poorly.
And who the hell is this poster Looper whom I have seen cluttering up Youtube? This is an actual company. Gosh. I wonder how do they hope to make money by posting videos about how everything is coming to Netflix in August? Can anybody say INFOMERCIAL?

I'm no fan of Death Note because I never liked crime dramas, I forced myself to finish watching the series & as a result I understood what each character was about & judging by the trailer of Netflix's live action adaptation the lead actors & who ever made them act that way completely failed to capture the essence of who Light & L were, these 2 are completely different from their Anime counter parts & not in a good way.

I don't care about the white wash. Hollywood has been doing it for years, and still make great movies. The movie probably would've never happen if they had the Asian cast as in the anime. I just love how people say it will suck because of the white wash, without actually seeing it yet. My only concern is if they do the source material justice, and how are they going to make a movie out of a 25 episode series.

My problem with the American adaptation is that the trailer depicted Light as someone who was scared of Ryuk when he first showed up, when really he was just startled. Light had a feeling that something like Ryuk would showed up, but in the Netflix version he couldn't believe it and thought he was dreaming. I will be watching it as a separate non-faithful adaptation to see how it fares.

What happened to Monday reminds me of a book I read when I was a kid about a family of 5 w/ 3 boys that are only allowed to have 2 kids. The third child Luke just lives in the basement and no one is to know he's alive until he figures out there's another third child living across the street and he escapes to meet her. It's called Among The Hidden.

wow, this loppa shite (site) must be at least partially owned by netflix or a parent. Regularly pimping the cheapest shit programming NF can pick up for a song and hyping some of the worst movies ever filmed and calling them exciting, a good watch, or interesting think pieces. One man's steaming pile of excrement is another man's treasure.

Cancelled streaming. Went back to discs. MUCH better selection, Blu-ray discs look and SOUND better than any streaming movie. Since no one is doing discs anymore, I get everything super fast. Plus I don't have to spend an hour scrolling through a bunch of crap and then not deciding on anything.

i don't have high hopes for this death note movie but i will always give it a shot before i judge it, a lot of people saying how bad it is going to be and how it is going to fail but they haven't even given it a chance yet we can make honest decisions about it when it actually comes out

Why did netflix have to shit all over Death Note? I'd be slightly more OK with it if they just would have come up with their own story. A random american teen, anyone except a white Light, that finds another death note, not Ryuks. How hard can it be to come up with a new shinigami?
