In the '70s and '80s, martial arts movies were in a golden age. Frenetic, action-packed films from East Asia earned the attention of fascinated audiences overseas, and the talented heroes that starred in them gained thousands of dedicated fans. Believe it or not, many of the stories from behind the scenes of these films are as crazy as the movies themselves. From Bruce Lee wannabes to bizarre genre mash-ups, the world of kung fu cinema was a truly outrageous place to be. These are the wildest true stories from the martial arts films of the '70s and '80s.

I remember there a TV Show called The Master with Lee Van Cleef as a Caucasian trained as a Ninja I guess in Japan who return tothe US and get a Student (I forgot the Young Actor's Name) I think Sho whatever his last name was his frequent Nemissis The Master and his student if My memory serveis me right traveled across the U. S. using the Ninja Skills to help others and battle Evil. I haven't seen the Series in a few years so my Memory about it may not be perfect. I don't think it last more than a year, maybe 2, but I thought it was a pretty good series.

What I never understood as a child growing up watching kung fu movies, was why they always paused after doing a small combo. Strike, pause, block, pause, strike strike, pause - who thought that was a good idea? I can't wait for cgi to be able to make photo real actors with ease so we can make new films with their likenesses - not as good as the original but still cool

Personally my favorites have always been Shaw brothers movies starring the venoms mob with titles like 5 deadly venoms, kid with the golden arm and invincible shaolin, I was lucky enough to meet lo mang ( the toad from 5dv ) in 2007 when he came to Philadelphia also I enjoyed many Bruce li movies as well, I thought they were very entertaining

I will never forget the lines Today your eating paper, tomorrow it will be glass! , I think I was in high school mid 2000s. The rest was history cuz we were hooked to his kickass and cheesy/cocky lines!

Man. I used to constantly go to SunCoast to find old school martial arts movies. Especially, when they came out with The Wu-Tang Clan Collection.
