I read the book before the original Jaws movie was released, so it didn't give me nightmares. but 5 years later, I drove down to Daytona Beach from Detroit, with my younger brother for his spring break, while taking 2 weeks off on vacation from my job. Upon wading into the Atlantic Ocean to bodysurf, that damn movie was the first thing that I thought of.
I had never swam in an ocean before, just in most of the Great Lakes, even ice-cold Lake Superior. briefly. The best thing about it was my being able to swim faster in saltwater, but obviously not fast enough to elude a shark.

1. Nightmare on Elm Street-- Haven't seen but trust me when I say it won't scare me
2. Scream-- Saw this lol It was quite a laugh really
3. Jaws-- Heard about this. Didn't watched because come on.
4. The Ring-- lol I've watched this already (commented about this on another video)
5. Final Destination-- Watched all of them. Loved them even though their deaths were a little far sketched
6. Night of the Living Dead-- Haven't seen. probably will never see it also lol

I haven't been scared by a movie in years! Most of thehorror movies now are the same story just told a thousand different ways. The found film footage is so over done it's boring. Carrie syndrome has been in every movie since it was originally done Carrie staring Sissy Spacestech (sp. Hope I spelled her name right. Hollywood writers need to stop remaking the classic horror film's and come up with something original! Oh and please no more fake lame zombie movies, PLEASE!

looper. are you one of those 80's people who love and appreciate old movies because you enjoyed watching them as a kid. and now you've grown up and telling us hey guys you should check these movies out. they're probably old but still they are the best! ? people nowadays dont like those crappy movies. there is a crap ton of horrifiying movies that have been released within pass couple of years and you mentioned none of them. I guess you need to update your system bro

It's all subjective I guess but the only horror movies that I've found scary in my life were The Grudge - when it first came out- as well as the Conjuring 2. Only movies ever to have me shitting bricks in the opening scenes. As a side note, I love the Conjuring and all movies related like Annabelle and Amityville Horror I think they have gone a long way in saving the horror movie genre.

Their was this Japanese horror film about a man who kidnapped this girl kept her alive as possible while cutting her limbs off.
Can't remember the title.
The other film that was disturbing for many was the French film reversible but can't think of any that gave me nightmares other than the omen which I saw when I was about 9 maybe younger.

Nightmare on Elm Street and Final Destination are not scary. Jaws wasn't really horror but it was scary. What about the Grudge, Sisters, The Exorcist, Psycho, Last Shift, Veronica, The Conjouring, Insidious and The Babadook. The teen slasher flicks don't interest me, with the exception of Halloween.

wait, the Final Destination series is a horror? i thought those films are comedies. also, none of the mentioned films on this list scares me at all. though, the thought of dying in your sleep with no symptoms does sound pretty scary, since A Nightmare on Elm Street was based on a medical case.
