I honestly really liked both Sinister movies. Moreover, it was interesting to see the movies' villain through two different settings: first, the unstoppable evil that hunted relentlessly from the victim's perspective, then seeing behind the veil as the investigator who tries to stop him in the second. I was also super invested in the idea of the ham radio being linked to the monster's origins, and was thrilled t the prospect of maybe having the detective try and hunt him down once more after barely escaping with his life to try and get to the source of the being's influence and shut him down for good. I have to admit I was pretty disappointed with the lack of a their movie, because I honestly feel like there was still some interesting threads left to follow. As for the monster not being interesting enough, I feel like the fact that no one knows much about him is what actually makes him so interesting, because with the addition of the information gleaned throughout the second film, it is interesting to try and piece together what he actually is, kind of like how people who haven't read the book may puzzle about Pennywise's true nature after seeing the first film.

Sinister 2 defeats the whole purpose of Sinister altogether! The girl in the first movie catches a glimpse of Bughuuls videos and becomes possessed and kills her family yet Sinister 2 ruined the possession aspect to it! It didn't portray the kids as victim's of bughuuls possession, much like the little girl from the first movie was, it seemed as if one can choose to do Bughuuls bidding which ruined it for me! In the end the already violent and vengeful kid tried to take out his family whilst his brother for some odd reason saw all the film's yet no hint of possession, as if he had a choice and the other kids made theirs. Basically the kids were always evil and just wanted to please Bughuul is what I got from the whole story! Bughuul just happen to use their killer instinct to take ones soul! Whatever the movie made the first which I found great and original a shit show in the end!

I honestly liked Sinister and I thought the sequel was a decent addition. I really liked the characters in the second one and the relationships built. But I really wish the ending were different. Now I do believe these movies have their flaws and even some plot holes, but overall I enjoyed them and the story they revealed. Plus Deputy has to be one of my favorite horror protagonists. Hes logical and relatable. While sometimes his relatability could be seen as a little forced, I really liked him as a character and wish he, Courtney, and Dylan got a happy ending. Although that seems cheesy in horror, I feel it wouldve given me a satisfying conclusion for the series. However, they anticipated for a third movie, which is why the ending is what it is. Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk

It makes me so mad because in my opinion The Conjuring movies aren't scary and if anything boring. Because I started watching them when I was three, not many horror movies scared me. But the whole concept and just everything about the Sinister series just had me in awe and the first one really got under my skin. I mean, yeah, the sequel wasn't NEAR as good as the first one, but it was still pretty good and it still had my attention. Plus it was cool to have a kid's point of view of it, they could've done it better but it was still cool. Hell, as soon as I get the chance I'm buying both movies and I'm hiding them for myself (I tend to hog what I consider really good movies. I just hate that no one else seemed to think that way.

I hate the fact that we wont be getting a Sinister 3. The fact that the decision was made because the second didnt make enough money is pure greed on Blumhouses part. The movie grossed 50 million worldwide on a 10 million budget. Thats not even a bomb. More than a lot of other R rated horror movies make these days actually. They made money off that movie. Maybe not as much as expected, money nonetheless. Poor word of mouth is what hurt its performance more than anything. I have no doubt that a Sinister 3 would do extremely well if its quality was on par with the first film.

Sinister was so good because we discovered what was going on at the same time that Ethan Hawke did.
Once you know what's happened to the 'lost' family member, who's behind the killings and what sets them off, then the mystery is gone and the story ended; all that's left is that the cycle will repeat.
I liked Saw as a standalone film as well: less is more and over explaining the back story/seeing more of the 'monster' removes what makes the film interesting in the first place.
It's like having to explain a joke to someone.

The first sinister was amazing. The fact the villain wasn't looked into and explained is actually better- you just see the main character discovering blurred images of his face by examining the videos. you just knew he was there. The mystery and suspense and creepiness made it so effective. I'd go so far as to remove the scenes that showed his face unblurred in the first movie. That's why noticing he was hiding in a bush in the background of a picture is scarier than having him run towards you out of nowhere.

Personally I loved the second movie the first one took way too long to get to any tension that by the time it did I didn't care anymore the best scenes of the snuff films were cut out almost entirely the second one kept that tension all the way through and I would have loved a third movie based on the origins of baghoul it wld have been good to have three movies one based on the victim one on the children and one on baghoul but sadly that didn't happen

Sinister 1 was amazing because of the intense films and the music just added to the horrifying aspect. So when I watched the 2nd one it was disappointing to see the tapes didnt get as much attention as the first and that soundtrack was not good. In the first what made the films scary were the music. The music on the second sounded like mediocre Halloween music. Still a good film though.
