The Truth About The Black Order From Infinity War Elementroar: Woah woah woah, thats flat out wrong there at the Corvus takes control part. He was also locked in amber with Thanos and Proxima, because his soul is tied to his spear. He actually regrew inside the amber over time, thats how his immortality works.
He, Proxima, and Thanos both later helped kill worlds during the Incursion event which then led up to Secret Wars.
And to be clear, Corvus and Proxima are demonstrated multiple times that despite being genocidal villains, they legitimately love each other. Proxima lost the battle being locked in amber because she collapsed over accidentally killing Corvus and she decided to just wait for him to resurrect with his powers.
Post-Secret Wars rebooted universe is iffy because both seem to have forgotten the other existed, but it seems that Corvus got resurrected first before Thanos or Proxima. So its possible he simply thought they both died.
But by Avengers: No Surrender, theyre all revived together with the rest of the group, and again, its made clear theyre quite happy being together.
Corvus and Proxima is legitimately one of the few actually happily married couples in Marvel, despite being villains. Given a choice its been shown they do not like being apart so the reasoning at Corvus takes control makes no sense. In the audiobook for Thanos: Death Sentence, he can barely take being away from Proxima for 3 months.

It really sucks how under used they were. I've never seen comic/animation characters so poorly used in a movie before. The only hope I see left for them is being main antagonists in Captain Marvel so we can understand who they are and their powerset, and hopefully they can be ressurected in Avengers 4 with characters like Supergiant and Black Dwarf. The characters could have easily survived. Corvus's weapon is still intact, Black Dwarf wasn't seen in pieces so he could have fallen to the ground unconcious, and Ebony Maw has telekinesis and possible magic, so he could have somehow thawed out on another planet. Proxima was torn to shreds on screen so that's not good. Still, Thanos has his Infinity Gauntlet but I doubt he would use it for them after they failed.

MCU was super inconsistent with the Black Order, 2 of them almost took out 2 of the most powerful Avengers in Scarlet Witch and Vision, only to be thwarted by mere mortals like Cap, Falcon, and oh come on, Black Widow! You'll see Black Widow go toe to toe with Proxima (and again in Wakanda, with no high tech armor or anything. Even Spidey who is already strong and resilient got an upgrade. But Black Widow! Really?

I'd be interested to know where they were in the events of Guardians of The Galaxy, given Nebula and Gamora were present with him, yet the Black Order nowhere to be seen. I know you could say it's because they weren't written in to the MCU at the time but I'd love to see a flashback in a future film or prequel comic, maybe seeking out the gauntlet we see him pick up in the Age of Ultron post-credits scene.

The movie did such a good job with Ebony Maw partly because he used his powers in a way that made sense. The exceptions were when he did not use it to stop himself mid-air while being sucked out of the ship or seizing up the muscles of the Avengers in the first encounter. Is there an explanation as to why he did not do it?

I'd love to see the black order take on the X-Men! In Avengers endgame it was three on one. 12x Men vs the black order.
1. Cyclops
2. Jean Grey- no Phoenix
3. Beast
4. Iceman
5. Archangel
6. Nightcrawler
7. Colossus
8. Wolverine
9. Storm
10. Rogue
11. Gambit
12. Psylocke's

They didn't do the Black Order any justice in this movie. I don't think their names are even mentioned in the film except for when Thanos tells Strange I'm guessing Maw is dead. I mean, full on backstories would have been way too much, but most people didn't even know who or what they were looking at.

AKA Cull Obsidian? Cull Obsidian is the other name for Black Dwarf, the giant-ass dude that was kind of short-changed to be the grunt of the grunts. He's actually the most powerful of Thanos' Black Order. Gathered from across the galaxy like Nebula and Gamora, and others, to be his children.

While he may not have been Supergiant, does anyone else remember that there was a (suggested) fifth member who was in both the first Avenger's movie and the first Guardians of the Galaxy. He was kinda killed off in that movie, tho, but in my head, he was the MCU's adaptation of Supergiant.

if they have their real powers like in the comics, the movie will surely be too much. I guess the characters are still in the process of being fully developed until they reach the time when they will fight the other strong characters from other dimensions/planets/universe.
