Think you've missed the point on some of these in terms of purpose for gaining cult status. To begin with Grandmas Boy is a great hilarious underrated stoner comedy. The Room has cult status because of just how bad a film it was to point of comedic proportions. Showgirls & Mommy Dearest have a cult following because of tbeir over the top campiness making them fun to watch. The other three. Corn, Dune & Duck are all just terribly bad movies with a small niche following and worthy of this list.

Showgirls is great satire, and it's not just misunderstood or underrated, but a fantastic movie. It's kistch and cartoonish on purpose and most people just don't like its tone. As a fiction it is more fun and dynamic than most movies nominated for Academy Awards, and as a mockery of show business it is sharper and more savage than almost any other film I have seen on the subject of Hollywood. If you don't like it, it's just a shame because of what you're missing.

One: Lynch's only actualy good movie is Dune. That morons can't follow a plotmore compicated thanTransformers 666, not my fault.
Second: Howard the duck is a perfect movie for a 12-15 years boy.
Third: Children of the Corn 1 actualy has its look as the main appeal.
Four: Showgirls' only sin was, it shown naked bodies in a way what was totaly not erotic, and shauvinist reviewers couldn't deal with that. Not a masterpiece, but absolutely fine film.

i dated a girl who loved Dune (the book) and talked about it a lot. She tried to get me to read it but i was too busy. When the movie came out we went and she was in absolute shock and horror. She heated so much we had to go back and see it again with her criticising it out loud the whole way through. But that's ok we were the only ones in the theater. Miss you Valerie.

Children of the corn? Hell, most of King's horror yarns were terrible as movies.
Showgirls? I don't give a damn how bad folks think it is. It's filled with GORGEOUS women.
Howard the Duck? Silly, but still fun.
Dune? A serious disappointment to fans of the novel.
The rest I couldn't care less about.

I've always loved Dune. Never even thought it was bad until it became cool to say it was. It feels genuinely alien. I can forgive the special fx stuff for the time it was made.
Also, I actually enjoyed Howard the Duck back in the day.
Grandma's Boy is fine. No hate required for that 1

I'm just here for the ratio. You all brought the hate on yourselves when you included Grandma's Boy to this list. Also, Mommy Dearest is nearly an homage to Joan Crawford's films themselves. In that respect, it's brilliant. Also, Dune deserves its place as a cult classic.

Why does Mommy Dearest get so much crap? It's a haunting tale of a real life person who had mental issues and abused her children. The acting was great and it wasn't boring at all. Stop jumping on the razzie bandwagon and make your own opinions about movies
