Why Michael Cera Doesn't Get Many Movie Offers Anymore
video description
I thought he showed some acting range in Molly's Game, which BTW was an awesome movie. He played Toby Maquire in that movie (aka player X) and was able to nail that entitled POS with some real skill. I think he's the type that chooses his scripts very carefully so we'll see him perform great again in the future, no doubt.

I've always wanted to work with Tajja Isen. Maybe she was not as interested in on-camera acting or going Hollywood as Michael Cera, but I still remember - they played Brother Bear and Sister Bear on The Berenstain Bears. Now, I live in the United States and they live in East Canada, but I always figured - since Michael Cera has been in a few animated films and TV with American voice actors after he was in Arrested Development, well I always wanted to do the same with Tajja in my own cartoons one of these days. I really enjoyed her performances in Super Why and Atomic Betty. June 4, 2020, 3: 14am

Second-hand info so take it for what it's worth. Friend of mine told me the other day that he worked with him on set a movie. Said he was a 'fcking asshole' that treated everyone like shit. The only reason I came here was to see who Michael Cera was. And I'm like 'Oh, that guy' LOL.
Having said that, it was a moment in time. It's possible that Michael Cera had some shit going on in his personal life at the time. I can name a couple of times in my life that I was kind of a dick to others because my life was coming apart. We're all human.

He probably realized how over-exposed and ubiquitous he had become and stepped out of the limelight because he didn't want people to become sick to death of him. He's been involved in a lot of good movies and he'll probably be able to make a comeback when the timing is right and he finds the right role.

He's is playing in indie movies now. I think he picks characters based on what parts he actually wants to play and doesn't do it for fame and money but because hes doing parts that he loves to do. I don't blame him. You get to do what you want without all the crazies following you

Kristen Stewart, Micheal Cera, Aubrey Plaza, Jesse Eisenberg. Azis Ansari, Jason Segel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse. and the list goes on. When have you seen any of these actors played a role that is actually different from their real life persona? They all play themselves. in every role!

You forgot the fact that he's a huge dick to anyone who's not another famous person. You can find plenty of stories of fans and people working in hotels and whatnot who've witnessed him be an ass to people for no reason except that he could.

Micheal Ceras acting is awkwardly funny, I love that type of acting. Like youth in revolt when he switches between personas I thought it was amazing. Idk why ppl hate him but to each their own, I just wish to see more of him

Nobody needs bad actors to play awkward losers, there's already plenty of those in the real world. Glad to see he's following his own career and pursuing what he wants in life instead of sucking up to Hollywood douchebags.
