Why These 2018 Films Bombed At The Box Office mits: Solo was a good film not great but a fare made film saved by Ron Howard, and a big yes, the turn outs was low because of the last two SW films were total crap, but Solo I knew because of Ron Howard this film was going to be alright. Ron Howard is a fantastic director and I knew because he took over the finishing of Solo and seeing trailers it was going to be fine. The SW fans r pissed and they like me were boycotting any thing else that had anything to do with Disney and SW can u blame us. SW 9 hell no u couldn't drag me to it the new trilogy is so damn dead hell buzzards won't even circle it. Disney has strangled the life out of our fan base on SW and huge question is why? why would they shell out 5 billion dollars and then allow a hand full of people release such political garbage in to theaters. It still feels like a bad dream, hell Ive seen fan base films do better than that. BUT SW 9 HELL NO TOTAL BAN

THERE IS NO STAR WARS FATIGUE: I'd watch a new Star Wars movie each week, hell, each day if I could afford it, but I want story, atmosphere, meaningful development, character development, something to talk about, something to think about and last but not least, please avoid huge plotholes.
Don't sell me that crappy, uninspired money grabbing shit and get Joss Whedon on board. NOW!
I mean, how do you create films like these and expect everyone to be excited about it? We all love Star Wars, but this is a blessing as well as a burden. Because we don't want you to ruin something that we love. So get your shit together and start making great movies in the Star Wars universe. Thank you!

Solo failed because the Studio and it's people slammed their fan base and the fan base slammed back with their wallets. Something I truly hope happens to Captain Marvel as well!
Wrinkle in time bombed because it was a bomb!
Skyscraper was a poorly executed Die Hard. Had they just come out as said that, maybe it wouldn't have crashed and burned so badly.
You actually made me look up Johnny Knoxville to see if he was still alive as you made it sound like he died while making that film!
I happened to like Winchester, maybe I was the only one, who knows.
Annihilation was another I liked, especially the ending: )

Solo failed due to the so called fans. They were pissed over Star Wars The Last Jedi (on various points.
The fans mad over TLJ stayed away from Solo, which is a shame.
It was a great real Star Wars film.
Great plot, acting and feel to it.
The Rock is in too many films per year. He will have a flop now and then. Keeps him humble.
Happytime Murders was hilariously nasty. But puppets humping was just a bit too much for audiences.
Annihilation was a great thought provoking film. In other words in this Trumpian Era of ignorance, it was dead in the water.

Star Wars fatigue was a factor
Let's be real for a minute. Marvel is crapping out 3-4 movies a year and is making more money than the previous release. The reason why Solo failed is because The Last Jedi was the greatest dumpster fire mankind has ever known. It was a terrible film and Lucasfilm mocked and ridiculed anyone who disliked it. This was further exacerbated by the fact solo was an exceptionally mediocre film.
If TLJ wasn't such a turd and the way criticism was handled, Solo would have doubled its profit regardless of how bad it was.

Oh ffs. When Disney leaked that there would be a Solo origin story, fans all over the internet gave a virtually unanimous response, NO.
No one wanted another origin story, also the prequels ruined Vader and fans didn't want Han Solo ruined. Han is a perfect rogue character so don't screw him up. That's what SW fans were saying.
Disney ignored what the fans said and that's why Solo flopped. Even though they gave riveting info like why he wears a vest. A vest. Solo wears a vest because the film was made in the 70s when people wore vests.

To be frank, Solo was boring. Incredibly boring. On top of that, the previous Star Wars flick was such garbage that the rest of the franchise is STILL in danger. I for one will not be watching episode 9, because I refuse to reward Disney for bad behavior. A Wrinkle In Time was really, really bad. No amount of propaganda spewed by the studio or actors could save it. Robin Hood looked like just another mindless action flick, so I stayed away.

Rian hurt solo with tlj. They used nostalgia to draw everybody back then crapped on the original cast. He did so much damage to the franchise then shit on the fans. I doubt starwars could fatique. With the jedi and the sith extinct and no interesting hero or villain they can only fix it with a reboot or by saying episode 9 didn't happen. Alot of companies are crapping on the fans. Its the weirdest trend in business nowadays.

They did this video way too soon, given that both Mortal Engines and The Nutcracker Whatever were two of 2018's biggest bombs, but they couldn't have known that on December 20.
Plus Assassination Nation. No clue what the budget was but it opened on 1, 400 screens and still only managed to gross 2 million dollars. There must have been whole showings empty to create a statistic like that.

Solo flop because it was just a bad movie, as far as the rest of them usually if a critic says it's bad I make sure I watch it, critics wouldn't know a good movie if it kicked them in the ass. Many of the movies listed were just bad movies, several of them I couldn't even get thru the first 20 minutes. If it's not interesting by then I wont even waste my time to finish it.
