Truly an Amazing Actress that never got the flowers she deserved.
Dr. Phil, lost his license, yet found a way to practice for his tv show circus, He allegedly forced his wat into Shelley Duvalls car and basically exploited her for content, and made her look crazy. So he could get views. He used her.
Grimmlifecollective did an entirely empathetic, loving and thorough view of her, and were kind, thorough and absolutely stellar.

We lost Shelly today, I'm really saddened by this. I admit I wasn't as boned up on most of her films, but The Shining and specifically Shelly and Danny's characters have had a huge impact on my life. I stopped drinking on July 16 2022. I wasn't a good person when I drank. I'm almost on two years sober and me and my family are doing amazing since I quit. Pretty broken up to hear about her passing.

She was SUCH a naturally talented artist. Beautiful inside and out. Phil McGraw is not even a real doctor and is a blight on humankind. How awful what he did to her on his show. Thanks for blessing us with your talent and soul, Shelley. Fly with the Angels! Say HI to Robin Williams.

She was quite beautiful when she was younger. It's heartbreaking that she struggled so much in her later years. She was one of the best and most unique actresses of her generation. Her films with Robert Altman are really worth watching, especially 3 Women. May she rest in peace.

So heartwarming to see how she was loved. I really hope before she passed she knew how much she was loved by her fans.
She is a part of world record holder for an actress with the most takes in a film, which i think will never be broken.
Lost but not forgotten

She was a great actress. Rest in peace dear.
Side note, Doctor Phil is a horrible person who has exploited people for years for his show with his pseudo-therapy BS. He's not even a doctor. But he sure is a skilled scam artist.

I really enjoyed the shining. I thought it was an excellent movie. Except for Shelly Duval. To was so over the top and hysterical. Just shut up already. Her character bothered me to no end.

i was so sad to hear the news about her passing just watched the shining today shelley was truly the perfect scream queen she will be missed but she will live on thru the iconic films she was in

I seen a video of her about a year ago where she was hanging out and amswersing questions from a fan. She seemed more at peace than she was years before that. Rest now Shelly, we love you.

Phil McGraw is a piece of garbage and always has been. I wish she had never surfaced to show us how some people age and lose their way. Apologies, Ms. Duvall. May you find peace.

I distinctly remember hearing in reviews of The Shining people talking about how she was frumpy. Personally I thought she was a looker in her younger days.

She did some truly important work. My mother adores the Faerie Tale Theatre. I was too young to remember much but I'm going to have to watch it now with her.

I've watched Popeye multiple times and can't recall watching The Shining once maybe I did stoned as a teenager and forgot but I think I just never seen it

Her life wasn't tragic. She lived a good full life and was loved and treasured by those around her. Stop sensationalizing her story for clicks. Low life

She really was a magical awe-inspiring being -- there was something so unique and intriguing with her -- there are none that have that same aura

The live action Popeye film Shelley did with Robin Williams prior to the shining is well worth looking out for and a cult classic
reply

We're you waiting for her to die before uploading this She's barely in the grave and you're already disrespecting her memory.
reply

She was amazing as Wendy Torrence. I'm just happy she outlived that monster Stanley Kubrick. RIP Shelley. You're a horror icon.
reply

I didn't know much about her. May she rest in peace. Blanco TX is beautiful. I enjoyed myself visiting the lavender festival.
reply

I best know her from popeye as olive oyle and the shining but I didn’t watch the movie cause I don’t like horror movies
