The contract had something to do with Downey Jr. profiting extremely well, anytime he appeared in a Marvel film as Iron Man, I believe. And since nobody (at the time) thought that one Ironman movie would be the beginning of a billion dollar interconnected movie universe, and one of the biggest film franchises in modern cinema, Marvel agreed to the contract.
Plus, at the time Marvel Studios were filming Ironman, they were practically broke. So, we cant really blame them for agreeing to that contract, at the time.
P. S dont quote me on all of this, I could very well be wrong about a lot of it.

The scene where Scarlett needed help from Cap Black Widow and Falcon to fight Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive is by far the weirdest scene in IW. Why would an all powerful telepath combatant that is powerful enough to destroy the supposedly indestructable Infinity Stone need help in battle?
One of the reasons AOU sucked is because of the hawkeye peptalk scene. Like the Avengers except Black Widow needed that hawkeye motivation

I know iron man was the base for this franchise but damn RDJ is overpaid af! All the other actors make 100, 000 to 6 million and he gets 200 million? I think thats too much considering he is not even on set half the time cuz iron man is mostly done using CGI and other times its a stunt double. Also some of the biggest actors like tom cruise, jhonny depp, will smith and arnold dont even get paid close to that.

I am one of the diehard fan of Ironman and want RDJ to be iron Man till there is marvel but hearing that he takes aprox 20 times more money than others has left me blank pls RDJ don't take so much money or else marvel will not make new contract with you and then fans like me will stop seeing marvel movies! Do pls RDJ don't leave marvel and play Ironman for the end of life.

Sam Jackson is basically crapping money! He not only made over eleven million from capital one from his advertisements, but he also bought a larger amount of shares in the company. Also he picked up a nice check from pixar for the character Frozo in the incredibles. Also he's made a few nice pay days from Agents of shield appearances, and his stand alone films.

Definitely not getting paid as much as I thought except for comeback Rob of course. Them 1st movie paychecks were very low as if they were trying to play it very safe bc they must of felt the super hero movies wouldnt do well at the box office

Gotta sat I'm more excited for Captain Marvel than pretty much any other Marvel more to date. Brie Larson is THE perfect casting for the role and I hope that film revitalizes the entire set of Marvel franchises for me. Go Ms/Cpt. Marvel!
