Arya Stark Leaves GoT Fans Speechless After Latest Episode Randy: I believe they planned to do all the NK and prophecy in season 7 and HBO told them to hold off on all that because they wanted to tie the popularity of this show to the planned prequel and people had to wait to find out about the secrets of the NK then.
You can see how the writting was rushed in season 7 but they still had to keep the people guessing about the NK so it became really clunky and they had to build cersi up before they wanted to. I believe they had this planned out perfectly and the prequel ruined at least the least 2 seasons and its possible we could have gone 9 or 10 seasons.
This is why Bran stopped going to the past. This is why there is no pay off to Jon's death in season 5 and resurrected. This is why there was no pay off to Ned hearing Bran at the tower or joy. It seems clear to me the Hodor twist had a pay off tied to Bran and the NK that they couldn't move forward with. This is why they suddenly needed extra years to complete the very odd story in season 7 where not much is happening, because they had to scrap all of their plans, rewrite it all and build new sets they hadn't planned on.
It was just before or right when season 7 started that we started hearing about prequels so it makes sense to me they had to completely stop developing a major story point (the NK, the white walkers, the 3 eyed Raven, the first men, the children of the forests, the wearwood net, the land of always winter, all the valyerian steel swords, the horn and glass Sam finds the first men left, Little Sam, why Bran doesn't do anything now because his power is tied to going to the past and why he blurts out that the NK has tried to kill many 3 eyed ravens before. We were supposed to see all of that in season 7 and 8 and possibly more seasons but now they want us to watch the prequel to find out about all of that and as grateful as I am with HBO for giving us this show, I am really disappointed they went this direction. I don't blame D and D for this, I think their hands were tied.
We will hear about what happened some day and I guarantee the prequels played a role.

Arya has been training all her life to become a warrior. Eversince season 1. She learned also a lot travelling with the Hound, fighting and surviving. She traines in the house of black with Jaqen H'ghar and even sacrificed being blind, trained herself to fight silently, sneak up silently and fight in the darkness, fight with blind eyes. All her life, she is training to be fast, silent, wise, skillful and she is fighting to survive the enrmies and even executing her revenge to avenge her family, like what she did with the house frey. I don't understand why people still found her wanting or unworthy to be the one to kill the night king. Jon always falls on traps, he is not the most witty when it comes to war strategies, like in the battle of the bastards and again in the battle of winterfell. It was Sansa who saved him on the battle of the bastards using her wits on her connectuon with Lord Baelish, now it was Arya. Arya is capable of killing the Night King and she is a worthy character to do it. She earned it.

why does arya get all the kills and revenge. She even had to butt in and solve a fight with the night king, even though she had zero connection with him through first 7 seasons, it would have made more sense for Jon to get that kill. It makes sense for her to kill Cersei but now if she kills her too then she has all the spotlight of the show. Many fans dont like episode form amateur tactical planning of defense to make it more cinematic and a disappointing ending to white walkers, seven seasons of dramatic build up to be solved in one episode. I thought that humans not coming together would effect the fight but it seams that there are no consequences for Cersei cuz they one anyway. Im not that satisfied with this episode. I hope ep 4 that is comeing out in 2 hours (my local time) will redeem the show cuz it was going astray for about three seasons now, only for the majority of fanbase have became blind to the truth because of their love for the show.

Arya Stark = Tony Stark, you must be kidding! I was utterly speechless, more than that, I felt betrayed. The whole set started with that very sad music implying everybody might die at the end, than bang, slapped me in the face with fist, and kicked me in the nuts, and not in the good way like the red wedding did back than. What kicked me the cowardice, they were too afraid to be original, to show something new and unique, they have to follow the rout of Hollywood, the road of money, don't risk, just do what satisfied the audience. Shame, because this series was something completely different, and if we forget that the Night King and his undead army were the metaphor of the ruthless power of nature, it is still unsatisfying, because the NK (and not Cersei) was the main threat to Westeros. Good job HBO, you successfully ruined a masterpiece!

I don't think it's going to be Cersei that Arya kills. Think about who else has green eyes that isn't a great fan of the Starks (when it comes to the throne? Exactly. The Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen. You may ask why would it be her instead of Cersei; because she's convinced that the seven kingdoms belong to her. Per the next episode, you see her so involved in concerning herself with taking the Throne that its not a concern to her that Jon Snow (whom real name is Aegon Targaryen is the rightful Heir to the Throne, however, that seems to be the on the back burner for her. It's going to be interesting to see how it all unfolds. My only reason given that would cause Arya to Shut Daenerys eyes is she ends up trying to kill Jon or kill Sansa. The End is Coming.

I know we all wanted a 1v1 with John and the Night King. Yet If you want some closure on the episode. John was actually sacrificing himself for Arya. That moment he was looking in disbelief at the camera. He saw Arya waiting to slip by. That's why he got up and yelled. GOOOO. Check it back with headphones. He yells it three times. A few seconds later we get the assassination of the Night King. In fact she was destined for so long. No one can kill the Night King. Then a girl must become No One.
(Here's to say that the battle plan still sucked, but the sequence of events with the characters was actually pretty amazing)

I agree Arya by now is skilled, she also has the plot background why she's the one who kills the NK. The problem is on how they delivered it. She appeared too overpowered all of a sudden. It is the director and execution of things that fell short. Just like the strong Plot Armor. Nothing wrong with Plot Armor but it's the execution of filming it, the attention to details, the reasoning of how they were able to survive it must be done well.
It's the most anticipated battle, can't get over that so easy. But overall it's a success for casual fans. That kill blow was still a huge spectacle. at first.

After a rewatch I noticed that Jon sees something that prompts him to stand face to face with Viserion vs. hiding as he did before. Hes sacrificing himself to distract the dragon and seems to be yelling go, go, go! I think he saw Arya heading to the godswood and knew she had the skills to sneak up on him earlier there and has the best chance of sneaking up on the NK there. Theres no other explanation why he comes out of hiding and screams at the ice dragon except to hold its attention from seeing her. It was truly a team effort from everyone in succession to get that blade into the NK.

Ok. now it makes sense. The real game of thrones fight still awaits.
Those who say the death of night king was easy. well, not really. He had already used his max powers by waking up the deads and the ice dragon. There was absolutely no chance of defeating him with face to face sword battle or dragon fire. The kill must be tricky and so does Arya jumps in. Still more episodes left for the actual thing to happen. So definitely i have expectation that the death of night king so early is intended.

This once brilliant series hasn't been the same since it veered away from the novels halfway through season six. Episode 3 of Season 8 with was a complete waste of time especially mine. The screen was far far too dark and there was no reason the battle couldn't have taken place in daylight. The series has become everything George RR Martin didn't want it to become, where it is now a simple case of good versus bad and the good always won. Just like all the other fantasy formats. It was shit.
