First half was great. Great set up, great premise. back half and ending were heavy and unsatisfying really. Waste of very brilliant performances from the actresses. The rape/abuse aspect felt wedged in, and while I'm happy they didn't show it on screen, it seems like they could've really given more life and backstory to the motivations of Anton and crew. Rendered the religious/cult overtones unnecessary and just there for window dressing when it was arguably one of the most important aspects to the story. This is before we get into the unnecessary flashbacks (I said DUH each time) and plot holes. Typical Netflix. Ugh. I think a movie that starts great and ends lazily is worse than just a lazy/bad film.

I thought the ending was basically destroying all his senses and listening to the two girls purposely make mistakes in the song. Cutting his hands and legs off so he couldnt move and touch. Closing his eyes and mouth shut so he couldnt see or speak. Only his ears were left open to hear the song. But since they know how much he hates when a student screws up the song perfection, they probably made many mistakes in playing the song on purpose to make it a more unsatisfying and miserable death for the teacher.

Anyone who has seen any other psychological thriller (i. e.: Black Swan, The Invitation, We Need To Talk About Kevin, Midsommar, Goodnight Mommy etc) can fully agree that this movie is complete garbage in comparison - and even without comparison, is a poorly acted, convoluted and messy movie on all fronts. This is absolutely not worth watching to anyone who values film - whether for its story, acting or cinematography.

that image of the red/black dressed hydra playing the perfection at the end is the stuff of nightmares. he fell victim to the monster he created. yes, i know, victory to the heroines and whatall-- but there is no doubt that in all their goodness and evolution, they also forever carry/embody the twisted trauma of their abuser's inherent darkness. really deep and fantastic film, i felt.

I dont understand why ghe movie was good. I yhink it was just somewhat boring and too random to be little more than pointless.
Basically it just seemed to weird for me personally to care about. Yes i get the plot. But i dont understand why its good. Even after watching this. Its still just too flat out weird for me. The ending also pissed me off. Dont know why.

huh go figure. I have had a Netflix account for yrs now and never was told about this. I even brought it to their attention that I was not being notified of the new stuff released. I guess they took it as me complaining. I will never renew my Netflix unless they off it for free. Sad that I find out about these shows weeks if not months later. See ya Netsucks

Something you might have missed is that Charlotte also cut off her hand. And by that Lizzie and her became 1. They weren't useless with one hand missing! They are still perfect.
I don't know. I watched it a few days ago and didn't like it that much. I don't understand the whole hype around it. It's an okai movie. Rated it a 5/10.

The only part of the movie I had a problem with was Charlotte taking her wig off. It added nothing to the story and besides wouldnt they have already known it was a wig when they dolled her up for her shackled solo?

When I heard about this movie, I thought the professor was going to stitch both girls together as one and gorce them to preform, since both are his starr pupils, together they would make the ultimate pupil.
