Alan Rickman also penned a play about American activist Rachael Corrie who was crushed to death by an Israeli tank while protecting a Palestinian home. He used her journal as the bases for the play. If a company wished to stage a production of my name is Rachael Corrie you actually had to contact Rickman and converse with him as to why you wanted to stage it. He was incredibly passionate about that play and the Rachael Corrie foundation. It was an absolute pleasure to work on a staging of it.

I didn't even know this great actor died until a few weeks ago. It never fails to leave a void when an actor dies and knowing there will never be another like them. This is only the second time for me that I felt loss for actors. Frankly most of them should shut their mouths when it comes to politics and things that they know NOTHING about. But anyway Allan Rickman and John Candy has left me saddened by their deaths.

My Grandmother who died from Pancreatic Cancer like Rickman is very painful to go through. You have 6 months to 2yrs to live. Mine went in 4 months and it was though in 2013 when both my Grandmothers had cancer around that same year. 2016 was a hard year for all of us, mourning so many celebrities/role models that died or who were taken too quickly.

I knew him because of Harry Potter. When I was little, I really didn't like prof Snape, thought he was not most annoying and prof, and a dark wizard. When I few days ago i had revisited the series, I realized that he was the coolest. Alan Rickman is the perfect prof Snape to me, he is really the one in my head when I read the books.

Well worth seeing 'Mesmer' and ' Rasputin', too.
Also, ' Perfume' and ' Sweeney Todd'. I was lucky enough to see Alan on stage, too. His ' Hamlet' was the best I've ever seen. Also, ' Tango at the end of Winter', ' Private Lives' and ' Antony and Cleopatra'. Wonderful, actor.

Alan Rickman was by far the most accomplished actor that only became apparent after his passing. Excellent thespian! Not to say he wasnt recognized for his talent while he was still with us, just that in our loss, we loved him more!

I am young and Ive watched the movies since I was 4. I did not know he died until a few years later I found out and I was completely devastated as he was my favorite character in Harry Potter.

For those of us who grew up in the 80/90ies, the Harry Potter character is definitely not what he is most fondly remembered for. He was awesome in Galaxy Quest, Dogma, Die Hard, Robin Hood.
