The Real Reason Marvel Didn't Bring Back Snipes For Blade chained2it: The real reasons?
1) He's too damned old. I mean, seriously? He played Blade 25 years ago.
2) The Blade movies were an entire generation ago, made by completely different people. Marvels going to start out fresh, not rehash what was done a quarter century ago. Its a completely different era.
3) Marvel is not going to bring in any actors from before the MCU existed. They want to cast their own choices, not be beholden to the past
4) Snipes has an extremely bad reputation on set. He is known as a giant pain in the ass and a lunatic to work with. Marvel doesnt need that shit

Anytime I see people say that a certain actor doesn't fit a certain comic book character because the previous actor that played that role embodied that same character, I always think about how people were shitting on heath ledger, But now, Everybody can't get his nuts out their mouth. Ali killed it in luke cage, Regardless of how short lived his role in it was, He has the capability & Capacity to pull it off,
I don't know why, Specifically, Americans want everything to be exactly the same in a REBOOT. I never understood.

I don't know. They brought Sylvester Stallone back for Rambo & Rocky. They brought back Harrison Ford for Star Wars & Blade Runner. Brought back Arnold Schwartzenegger for Terminator. Usually as a type of mentor passing the torch. I'm sure they could do the same with Wesley Snipes serving as the mentor for a new, younger protagonist. Snipes is extremely identifiable with the role, which is likely why the television series didn't hit it off so well.

Im gonna need to see Snipes as the mentor to Alis Blade passing him the torch in a dignified manner to hold the designation of The Blade. I would throw money at that. In fact, keep him on for a few films to get the new Blade out of tight spots once in a while. They look good together and would pull off amazing stunts in combat as a team. The audience would go apeshit. Marvel do us a solid. He is the father of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after all.

I understand that everyone wants Snipes back, he was a great Blade. But lets not forget that Mahershala Ali came to Feige about playing Blade. That means that Ali is clearly passionate about this role and movie. Someone who is truly passionate about what theyre making give it their best and usually make something amazing, especially someone as talented as Ali. Im excited

There is only one Blade. and its Wesley Snipes! Seems like every new movie that tries to recreate an already successful superhero character (like Christopher Reeve & Toby Maguire) have always failed in my opinion. I just cannot see anyone even coming close to Snipes' Blade character. the martial arts, the demeanor, the voice. all A+ - hope I'm wrong though.

I'm Black. I support the few Black super heroes and heroines we have. This Black superhero is rubbing me the wrong way. Wesley Snipes is BLADE. I'll bootleg this movie. Not gonna pay for it. It's a hack job. ALSO this review convinced me more why until Wesley Snipes is old and cannot walk, there'll only be ONE BLADE.

I know that most of us are pretty mad about Wesley Snipes not being Blade, but seeing a different take on Blade might not be so bad? Some marvel characters look NOTHING like the comic's versions, but we still love them. So I'm willing to give the MCU's Blade a fair chance at this

I've been collecting comics since I was able to read, I'm 56 now, over 40 years of Stan Lee creations. Wesley Snipes was an awesome Blade character. His grip on the character was excellent in every single aspect of the Marvel universe. I wish Mr. Snipes great ness in the future.
